I have to say, I do wonder about this all the time!

Whatever the reason, I for one am very glad that you do all do it.

Keep doing it too so I can pay the bills :)

no longer (pay to) shoot (clays) in bad weather if I can help it, when I first started we would be out in all weather

just thought i would add to my previous post as I like being out in all weather, running, picking up , working, football, but these activities are free :brr:

I work in bad weather so I'm dam well going to shoot in it , county bred makes me used to our Poxy weather ! ;)

No such thing as bad weather?? You have just never seen bad weather, there is no clothing that keeps you warm and dry enough to shoot comfortably in real bad weather!!!

I have mates in Canada who go hunting for Moose in -30 to -40c.  They fly up north or out west and spend a week doing it at some considerable cost.  You also can only shoot one if you've got one available on your ticket!  Also they have gone beyond rifles now and have crossbows so they have to get really close.  Just ordinary working guys but they just love their hunting.  Mind you I've been to Niagara Falls and Toronto and its been -28c in winter.  But its a dry cold which is not as unpleasant I don't think as our wet and damp cold.

Why do we do it?

Because we can!

Hunting in bad weather is different to shooting clay's in bad weather. I'll go hunting in any weather, be out in it all day, and love every minute . I pick and choose whether to shoot clay's in bad weather these day's though.

Bryan,

Yes, i doubt any weather is severe enough to make the Moose suddenly move offline as you pull the trigger. :prankster:

That is very interesting Robert, but what was your point?
Darkside, are you even aware of how rude and antisocial a lot of your posts sound? I quite enjoyed reading what Robert wrote, certainly much more than yours. What exactly was the point of yours by the way?

I thought his post was very interesting, so I said "very interesting Robert" I didn't understand what point he was making, so I asked him "...but what was your point?"...self explanatory I'd say !

Hit the ignore button Hammy, I can live with the thought of you not reading my posts...

Didn't realise I was commenting about Moose , they make a lot of noise too.

Going out in uncomfortable conditions that are way beyond what we get over here.
Robert we get horrible weather down in the West Country too as you know....it's called RAIN !!!!! Lots of it!

Ok its a point of view and I've done it in a gale in the English Channel as crew on a sailing boat with seas higher than the mast of the boat with the wind shrieking and trying to pluck you off and carry you away.
