As title this Saturday at the very pleasant on the eye Windrush ground, please don't take much notice of us locals scowling as most of us will be squabbling as its our County Championship, we do take the spirit of competition very seriously mind, and rest assured MrLovatt and his boys will have set some scalp scratching targets for one and all.

I will be kind to you all this week , after all the sun is shining !!!
Well the sun did shine so one out of two is about the same % as I shot!  Tough course today, well I thought is was, shot late afternoon and the only two scores in the 90s, lots of very good shots around and judging by the sorry condition of s few score cards some also found it a challenge, personally thought I did reasonable on stands 1-6 only to then lose my wheels, axles, chassis, panels etc as I well and truly imploded. This though is a terrific ground offering lots of novel shooting stands, traps down in an old railway cutting were set up and used well on two stands, liked those, and some plateau like fields tricked the mind as to distance. If you ever get the chance do visit, he won't like me for saying so this ground is far more pleasant a shoot than Westfield, if you have the choice of the two, shoot Windrush

I have been shooting GCC for 40 odd years , and I would say this about yesterday ,  Sat shooting does not have the entry level to make it a good move financially for the county  ? I find it hard to understand how this gets sanctioned at such short notice ? have always felt Gloucester shoots were good, at testing peoples real ability at a wide variation of targets ,it as often been said and up to yesterday I agreed whole heartedly that Windrush was something very special,so I am just wondering why it as become like so many other grounds , where target quality seems to be forgone to ( technical poop )appease shooters chasing scores . I understand the money making side of this but once a year surely  we could cut loose ??? it was a breath of fresh air shooting here years ago ? even took 2 boxes of BM3 ( still un opened ) found the little orange dipping away and floopy orange incomers too much for me yesterday missing 7-8 inside 12-15m to post a very poor  85 congrats to all who shot well , but in all honesty we need to get this sorted for next year ?

Glad you enjoyed your day again Clynt !!!! That was a hard testing shoot yesterday and there was two stands of easier clays for a chance to catch up after all the long stuff , there was 4 crossers out at between 40 and 50 yards including the Battue at the top field and this combined with the incomer which was close made it a tricky stand , Windrush is probably the most picturesque ground in the country and lends itself to throw excellent clays to entertain people , but yet again as you can't shoot a big score there you seem to shout about it and run it down so I guess in future you really need to find somewhere else to go on a shooting day and leave the folks alone that want to enjoy and appreciate what we do for them .

typical reply to a opinion that you disagree with , never expected much else really ..... next time you say anything to me about clays at grounds you felt lacked anything in the excitement department , I'll bring this little ditty to your attention

Gutted I couldnt make yesterday, I had really looked forwards to getting there and attempting to shoot all targets, technical and all, guess it will have to wait until next year
