FAC arrived today! 2 days shy of 11 month wait!
Im a firm beliver that bolt action rifles should be wood. Will take some more photos when I have more time. In the end I decided the varmint was unnecessarily heavy and the composite too thin in the fore end and plasticky feeling to me.
Yes, I see your point, does feel nice in wood.Im a firm beliver that bolt action rifles should be wood.
What scope did you go for in the end?
Yes, they are not for the squeamish... at least the bunnies can't look at you when you are skinning them..No rabbit within shouting distance is going to be safe know Bit graphic but the guy I used to shoot with could blow the head clean off a rabbit at 150 yds with his .17HMR
Flat shooting was primarily the main reason to chose this, especially for lamping.Rifles feel more of a tool to me than a luxury like a nice shotgun. i go for the composite stocks because most of my lamping is done off of our ATV's. It's just too hard to avoid the dings to the stock with wood.
Mine seems to really like hornady ammo. The great thing about .17 i find is that rabbit can be 50 to 150 yards and you still just put the cross hairs where you want them.
