Chris Symonds out of Essex, but he sent it off elsewhere for the re-blacking. It took a long time to find a gunsmith prepared to remove the rib, most seemed to think it was beyond them!!
Hi, How are the barrels joind together? are they silver soldered?

How much did this mod cost if i my ask?

I couldn't tell whether they were soldered or not, forgot already even if he told me but I do believe he said he was taking to it with a chisel although he may have been joking!

Including the re-blacking I think he charged £200 for the barrel work which I still can't get over how cheap it was :) .

What's the whieght without the bead?.Is he taking the mikle.

It's a Kronos, the Z is the new one I believe which should hopefully be half sorted anyway. The odd article I've seen since the re-launch of the make here haven't impressed the hell out of me though.

The price of £3800 is a tad over what the make can muster right now, £3100 would have made it much more saleable, they could have achieved this easily by making the weight system optional. The other mistake in my view is that the guns look too plain for that kind of money.
Hi Hamster - enjoying your posts on this.

When you say that "the gun looks too plain for this kind of money", are you referring to the Kronos or the Sport Z-Extra, as the latter is anything but 'plain'.

I couldn't tell whether they were soldered or not, forgot already even if he told me but I do believe he said he was taking to it with a chisel although he may have been joking!
Happy to be corrected here, but I was informed that Zolis, at least from factory, are welded, not soldered - although can't comment on the gun once it's been modded by this guy in Essex as you describe.

I was referring to the standard gun, the Z-Extra looks very nice but costs £5800 if I'm not mistaken? It's more than just about the action looks in my view as the timbers look too plain too, even in the magazine adverts.

I just find it very difficult to understand how manufacturers like Zoli / Blaser spend thousands to enter a market but fail to get the look right?! They ought to look at C Guerrini for a marketing master class.

I guess it's just an athestic thing - I have one of each, a Kronos and a Z Sport-Extra, and neither (in my view) looks plain, even the timbers - and I paid nowhere near £5,800 for the Z-Extra (actually £3,950 brand new).

Mind you, disagreeing about astheics is like disagreeing about your favourite music - it being purely a personal taste.

As to your point on their marketing, you'll not get a word of disagreement out me on that :)
