I was taught to do that by NickyT before i even started shooting.  Have never had the need to use the safety catch. Only load my gun at the stand, and if i get distracted or stop (when listening to a coach), i break the gun.

Will, i was speaking of all discaplines in general. But as it seems, there are different ways to tackle different areas/discaplines. Once we have christmas and the new year out the way, i will surely be trying out trap and all the others.

Reason i ask the fact many other sports have certain routines, drills etc to improve when at practise. Seeing if anyone out there has specific ones of which they use to improve on, or just the case of go out and play :smile:

How many times do you shoot/practise week/month ? Is there a specific routine you do, or do you just go out and shoot a number at each stand ? Edit* just realised error in title :oops:

Or maybe have a section dedicated for newbies and there questions. That way, it will not clutter other parts of the forums, and easier for new members or those new to the sport to find what they are looking for.

Thanks to all for your input and advise. We had a great day out, probably would have enjoyed it more if Josh did'nt come up with the dredded Flu, coughing his guts out all weekend. It was dry, the sun was out, Josh insisted we still go shooting. We turned up at Doveridge just after lunch time...

Just watched some vids on this, looks bloody good fun ! Videos did not pick up all the clays, but some of them seem to be super fast....! Not sure if it was due to the frames per second on the video's making out they were faster than they were actually going ?
