    Sporting Shoots 2020

Westfield today, my word it was a wet one! Pretty tidy card most of the way around until the last stand. Oh well, ended on 101/120 but some top shots out and I'm pretty sure there will be some incredible scores that don't portray the awful conditions we shot it!

Very enjoyable shoot at Coleys today, steady in places with nothing too testing. Ended on 87/100. Nice confidence builder that's for sure.  Westfield tomorrow.

    Sporting Shoots 2020

Oxford today and found it, as usual, fiddly in places. I do struggle to shoot targets that require no lead and there were a few of them. Plenty of flat teal as well.  Ended on 82 so bang on average, but no 'X' factor about the shoot today. I will return though, it's on my door step. Tomorrow...

    Sporting Shoots 2020

Last shoot of the season at Honesberie this coming Sunday.  From Facebook: In anticipation of the weather forecast for this week, we will be asking all shooters to park in the farm yard. As always we will be working hard to make it a great day for everyone and transport will provided to take...

I'm pretty sure you were polite! It will have been a matter of hurt pride, but as you say that's better than an accidental discharge!

    Sporting Shoots 2020

I'm looking forward to making a return to 4C. Seems like a few mistakes that Sean doesn't normally make so hopefully just teething issues with the new ground.  There really should be some basic certification before heading out, I fully agree! Well done for setting them straight, I imagine some...

DT11 black vs Perazzi MX2000s sporter

If you want a high end competition gun, with a black finish, I'd also consider the Rizzini BR460: https://www.a-s-i.co.uk/showroom_product/br440-sporting I do shoot one, so there is some bias there but it's proving it's worth. It gets plenty of rounds through it each year on both clay and game...

    Sporting Shoots 2020

Longridge today for the registered. They're being run over 3 days now and it seems to work really well. Steady shoot, looked tricker than it shot by the looks of the scores. As usual an enjoyable shoot and I was pleased with an 87. 5 of my misses were in the final pair of stands so maybe a tad...

    ultra xs pro

Well regarded and pretty much the best Browning clay gun. Few top shots use them with decent success, Sam Green and Chris Childerhouse being the obvious examples. Not forgetting our own top shot, @Turkey.

    Sporting Shoots 2020

Today, yes. Thankfully as I think I came 2nd in class (same as Coleys...always the bridesmaid...).

    Sporting Shoots 2020

Honesberie for me today, as ever a well balanced shoot and perfect weather. Long may it last!  They're still sticking with the small groups being sent out on course which really does flow nicely. Other shoots have gone back to full squads which, whilst in line with the governing bodies...

    Sporting Shoots 2020

Coleys for me, and I found some momentum and was able to keep a fairly tidy card. Birds only entry though so my score isn't in the Facebook post but I was 2nd in A class with 84. Sam Usher was HG on 90. That should show you the difficulty of the shoot, and how pleased I was with the end score...

    Sporting Shoots 2020

It was one of those rare weekends with no shooting, luckily we've got Ian Coleys on Wednesday and then a small bore competition on Saturday and Honesberie on Sunday.

    Sporting Shoots 2020

Honesberie today, great to see @bisondan and other friendly faces. Really enjoyable course, with no targets set in to the sun! :D   I peaked on the pool shoot I think, was joint HG when I left but imagine it will have been straighted by some of the stars in attendance. Quite a few 1's and 2's...

    Sporting Shoots 2020

Oxfordshire Shooting School for me as well. After looking at the scores from the last two months I was expecting an easy ride.... 🤣 Nice shoot. Even the close stuff had some interesting angles (not silly though). Shot with a great squad and met some friendly new faces.  Sadly, didn't get my...

    Sporting Shoots 2020

It's been a busy few weeks, but back in the swing of things with shooting. Coleys yesterday was good, apart from the delays but I'm pretty sure Matt has taken that feedback on board. Finished with 85 which included a 6 on stand 11 (big crosser). Blew the first one up, then took the front edge...

    Sporting Shoots 2020

Honesberie as well and a really enjoyable course. Felt like everything was there to be hit, but needed to be paying attention!  Ended with 87 which felt maybe 4 clays light based on some mistakes. Looking forward to the next one! Agree with Jasper, they really do care about how shooters find...
