Surely harder/tougher shoots now and again are good for learning and improving? Isn’t it that fire of missing harder targets that keep us going back for more?
It’s an old argument of course. Sure, nobody serious wants to shoot a load of old rubbish. It’s all a matter of degree. I do comment from the position of having shot a lot of different grounds so when I say tough I mean relative to what a good registered shoot normally is. And I’m very keen to see this shoot succeed which means it needs to appeal to the wider audience.
Had the same, abscess, with an extraction AND a root canal rolled into the mix as well. Just went to work and got on with it.Been off all week on the sofa getting rid of a tooth abscess with a lot of antibiotics so just had to get out. Went to College Farm for Fitasc which was quite hard made more so with very heavy winds and rain. I enjoyed it but I was rubbish. I missed whole pegs of singles and then would get the simo or on report pairs! Slept all the way home.

You done the correct thing, we all should have the confidence to speak out when safety is concerned. Quite a few years ago Phil, myself and a few others shot at the ground next the West London, as I had never shot there before someone came with me whilst I shot a round of compact/sport trap to see whether I was competent enough to shoot there. I was therefore dumbfounded to see a shooter who was very experienced walk from one stand to another loading his gun as he went, when I queried this with the gentleman watching/checking me he said he didn’t see it!

Seriously though, I am about 900 notes down due to it though and another 300 up soon for the crown!
Luckily my dentist is excellent at extractions, after the injection I don't feel anything during or after the procedure. Hope you get the same.
Which is exactly what I do on purpose even at my club ground nowadays so that scores have a minimal effect on my shooting. I like to think I have a rough idea if I've shot well, but occasionally been well under and well over what I thought in the past, so now I don't count until the fat lady is back in the slip.
I find that new prescription glasses ruin my shooting as the sense of scale is different. Perfect vision of undamaged clays is my experience for about ten shoots. I am wearing old prescription glasses to shoot with at present for that reason. I don't mind a slightly fuzzy clay if it breaks.
I had completely new glasses and inserts, they just didn’t suit, the glasses were too curved and distorted my vision, took them back and exchanged for different ones and they seem much better, will try them out Sunday so fingers crossed!I find that new prescription glasses ruin my shooting as the sense of scale is different. About the only ones I can use are from Specsavers. Hopeless with Pilla inserts and various expensive others..
I wore contacts years ago but couldn’t shoot in them. I had Rangers for years with no problem but really fancied the Pilla’s, it’s the same prescription so sight picture etc should be the same and these ones aren’t as curved, look more like the Rangers.
I agree, I don't want to know what my score is as I go around and I certainly don't want to know about anyone else's score, knowing what you have to beat is the kiss of death, however I do want to know after the event. (And Donna) I Know what you mean, stronger distance glasses change the perspective somewhat. I have found that shooting without glasses is still OK, I do it if it's raining for instance and I can still where see the clays are. My eyesight is really bad, I cannot see a thing without glasses! They are the first thing I put on when getting up and the last thing I take off before getting into bed!
