I assume the proof is in the pudding- if people don't like it, entries will go down and perhaps Steve will re consider. I see it as simple supply and demand- good shoot good facilities people don't mind paying a few quid more.

    Choke and sh*t string.

If it's a walk one stand one mate 1/4 will be absolutely plenty, don't let it worry you too much. can private message here or use website, Facebook twitter etc! cheers, ed

    Choke and sh*t string.

Depends entirely where you are shooting. Your regular stuff very little choke and a 32g 6 is plenty. if you do go to a real high bird shoot I wouldn't entertain anything less that 3/4 and 4s

    How much is birds only..?

    First gun - why shouldn't I buy a Baikal?

Awful stock dimensions and triggers rough as ars3holes. they won't break, but hard work to shoot and will have to spend time/money on the stock. look for a shot out mirouk or 680 series beretta, miles better and still cheap as chips for what it is.

    Choke and sh*t string.

A long shot string won't give you a larger margin for error due to the fact the time it takes to pass the clay is minuscule, so the clay barely moves. tighter chokes are better if you plan on shooting lots of long stuff, however most people's understanding of range is a bit off shall we say, so...

Just for clarity if I'm that Ed my card always goes in- just look at all the shot scores I post!

Mine is fixed choke just over 3/4 but half would murder them just as well. jeremy shot 3/8 and got devastating kills!

Still good going mate! Yes was very happy for first go but the 3 I missed weren't the tough ones!  We all see it differently but based on today I wouldn't be surprised to see a few big ones at the top, think 22 will be a way back at the end of it! well shot at EJC mate still good going ?

Cheers for the kind words Pete and was nice to have a chat! had to rush round churchills as was on at RBSS at 1, didn't get to finish sadly but wouldn't have trouble the top. A couple nice birds on but a bit too much straight at it stuff for me, still- always a nice trip there as a very well...

Exactly it sir. It's about 5% of the equation at best for the vast majority of times!

Tight chokes are great if you are consistently high 80s plus on decent reg targets. for the other 97% of people you are making your life far harder than it needs to be.

    Changing Guns - your reasons

Short list for me! First gun an absolute old nail of a beretta 686 28", had for a year, then an old school 682 30", very good bit of kit, then a K80. Been shooting the K80s for (I think) 15 odd years and won't shoot anything else for the rest of my time, everything else feels flimsy and horrible!
