    50 Grayish Shades

It's been a heck of a day, this is the first thing that's made me smile today. Thanks for posting it, Rosso!

Noise & etiquette - is it any wonder ! ( Rant mode on)

Thanks Will and Hamster. Hadn't considered it in those terms (the blind leading the blind, as it were), rather of one experienced gun showing around a less experienced one, which seemed logical to me...

Noise & etiquette - is it any wonder ! ( Rant mode on)

Will, sorry for the dumb question, and it is just that, a question, but what's wrong with sharing a gun?

    Lead Ammunition Group imminent report

Is there a materials science R&D project for one or several of the cartridge makers to commission that seeks to identify or create a material that is chemically inert, biodegradable, and has the same density and malleability (is that a real word?) as lead? Coming up with a real world...

    Surrey Police using M25 Camera's.

Rosso, what a crap day, sorry to hear it. Also does for my argument in favour of real cops instead of cameras...

    Surrey Police using M25 Camera's.

I believe the average driver can cope, in today's average car, with driving at 80 to 85mph. In good conditions and on good roads, I would say most are capable of more, as are the cars - I love unrestricted autobahns. There was something I heard on the radio the other day, stopping distances on...

    Surrey Police using M25 Camera's.

Rosso, we're being milked, not looked after. Personally, if there was some apparent return for the cash they generate, as opposed to the seemingly endless black hole our cash disappears into, I would mind less. As it stands, it just annoys me into dreams of emigration.

    New Benelli O/U

Fair enough, I'll get back in my cave. I thought side by side was invented first.

    New Benelli O/U

Guys, I'm not saying sxs are bad, rather, when they were the norm, the first o/u to appear will have looked entirely alien and been greeted with suspicion, much in the same way the Benelli is being received on here. They went on to thrive, so it follows that not all innovation is bad. Same goes...

    Gun storage companies

Agree. My brother doesn't have space at his for a cabinet in an appropriate place, so his gun lives at my place. His gun is on my cert, mine are on his, so that we can both transport, borrow, etc. as needed, and at the end of the day, they all end up safely locked up at mine.

    New Benelli O/U

To my point above about innovation, have a look at this video (nicked from Tinker's Facebook page, sorry Nic)

    New Benelli O/U

At some point someone decided that o/u was the way to go rather than SxS, and I presume the forumites of the day were also split in their opinions of the newfangled idea that landed in their midst. Not saying this is an equivalent development, but innovation does happen. Some will be good...

    Cartridge Prices £98 per Thousand

Edit: chanonry, agree with you, wrote my post below before reading yours... This all presumes cost+ pricing, whereas it is more likely to be market pricing: you charge what people will pay and hope to make the most margin possible given your cost base. Unless one manufacturer decides to go for...

    International gun courier?

I guess it's a balance of cost and risk and hassle. I have to use secure couriers for work, and while they are very good and would be just right for this sort of thing, they're far from cheap. Shipping one gun would probably set you back a couple of hundred at least. More complicated to...

    Price

Sorry, Venezuela showing mistrust on the USD? They're 100% dependent on the dollar, and blaming the US for their ills is a convenient crutch. In truth they've completely misused their foreign reserves, and overspent on populist "social causes"; not to mention the impact of rampant corruption...

    Price

It's funny how one's perspective impacts how you view current affairs: I tend to concentrate on Latin America, where the chat is that since the US is no longer beating up Cuba, they've turned their attention on Venezuela... Russia doesn't get that much of a look-in.

Getting started - is this unanswerable?

On guns and carts: when I borrowed a shotgun, I shot with the owner of the gun, and they provided the ammo. Didn't buy my own carts until my first go with my own gun. It's my understanding that carts do not need to be stored in the safe along with the gun(s), so get space for the guns and find...

Getting started - is this unanswerable?

For me: 1st go - corp event at work, no shooting scheduled, but there was a setup at the venue and we spent the afternoon trying some stands. That was enough for me, loved it, was hooked. 2nd - called local ground a week after the above, asked about having a go and was told to come along. A...
