    Don't look at the barrel!

You are actually BOTH right.  What differs is your view point and I suspect, the way you mount your gun. If you raise the comb of the gun, you have made the gun taller.  In order for you to mount the gun, either your face has to come up or the gun has to go down. Back to your "gun in a vice"...

    Don't look at the barrel!

So...tell us more about how you actually shoot. Gun up or down or both? Preferred method of achieving lead? Guide us through a left to right crosser at about 40 yards.

    Skeet and wind

Wind can make the clays go up, or down...up is quite common. I have been known to literally crouch, mid swing, following a clay down on a windy skeet layout! Obviously, if the wind is blowing from high to low, then your high birds will need more lead and you low birds less, and vice versa.

Where did you buy the miniature cartridge pouches? :)

    B525 spec please

Guns tend to be similar in size, plus the barrel length. If you work on 15 inch length of pull, plus the barrel length plus about 2 inches, you should be in the ball park. Obviously, extended chokes make a difference.

    Wanted Beretta 20 bore o/u

Hi. Should be a few here https://www.guntrader.uk/Guns-For-Sale/results/6b51-3b30-c566-484a But, what do you call "not a lot of money"?  You won't get much under a grand.

    WTB SO5

On a more serious note. Do those in the know, consider an SO5 to be able to put up with competition clay volumes? I know, that is what they are "designed for" and the Olympic pedigree etc...but in reality life?

    Muller's waterfowl chokes

I have had no problems shooting 5/6s through U3's. I think the Waterfowl hobbies are designed for LARGE shot and particularly, non toxic shot.  it is a bad idea to shoot heavy steel loads, through a tight Muller featherlite. So will you actually be on the foreshores, or will you be shooting...

    Muller's waterfowl chokes

Why do you need the Waterfowl chokes?   If you want Mullers, just go with the regular ones. Perhaps a U2 and U3 or pair of U3.

    Are inches important

I know a man, who has the CG can't remember the model, with two sets of barrels, one of which is 34 other is probably 32. Used to belong to Kevin Howland I believe (Hamster?) Point being, it's for sale. Evoracer on here.

    Oil for the action

https://www.acc-silicones.com/applications/lubrication.ashx  "Caution: Silicone grease should not be used for metal to metal high load bearings as it will cause adverse wear." Having said that, assuming you use a regular grease or oil for the actual lubricant, you should be ok.

    Shooing Gloves?

I have some thin Beretta gloves (#Fanboy) but as Hamster says, they do interfere. The good thing about MacWets, is that they do a good range of sizes. If you look at their website, it tells you how to measure your hands, to select the correct size. I think I will try a pair, but more often...
