I went up this morning (Saturday) and the weather was beautiful. They have left some of the competition targets out and they are far more hittable in the weather!

I shot the CPSA comp at Barbury on Wednesday. First squad out and was hammered by rain, wind, hail and SNOW! We all wrote off any chance of making something that resembled a decent score before we had even left the top of the Deer Park! 😂😂

My second outing at NCSC on Sunday for DTL. finished 6th in class on 267/300, dropping 8/100 targets overall, which apparently is ok. The targets are not difficult for me, it's the concentration! Great squad to shoot with and I'll be shooting this discipline again for sure.

You mis-understand my statement. Of course I 'see' lead but what I see as lead may not be the same as the next shooter. I may use a different method or my gun speed could be different, my hold point might be in a different place. I should say though, I very rarely use maintained lead because if...

Lead is all relative to the speed of the gun. Everyone sees lead differently. When I walk out of a stand and am asked' How much lead did you see?' My response is always, 'I don't see lead'.

For the past few years I've been 1st gun, first Squad, first day but Jonny Carter pinched the first two squads… the bugger! So now I'm in squad 3 on the Thursday.

I decided at the end of last year that in 2024 I was going to shoot every major ESP & SSP that was feasible for me to get too (basically, south of Birmingham). But I have to say, the Pro One is the highlight of my shooting calendar!

To echo Richards comments… The cost of setting up and running a major competition is far greater than a standard CPSA 100 bird comp. You have to appreciate that to enable us to just turn up and shoot, the amount of work before, during and post event that we as shooters/competitors don't see all...

WR&G cartridges are currently £289 per 1,000 but that will likely go up maybe February, like all cartridges. (I'm stocking up next week!)

The way that most CPSA comps are now set, you get shoot pretty much any cartridge for 90-95% of the targets (as long you you put the gun in the right place!)
