Good points there Jonny, I also suspect there will be at least one gun manufacture that will see this as an opportunity to market something new. For instance the new DT Fe a gun with its barrels specifically designed for the unique ballistics of steel shot.

All the big grounds in Yorkshire are plastic allowed with the exception of Thimbleby. Yes the small Sunday morning shoots and casual straw bail shoots will suffer but as long as the professional grounds can remain viable, the sport will adapt and cope.

Steel £400 per 1000 is just scare mongering. Gamebore super steel is around £250 per 1000 so I am sure the manufactures can supply steel around the same place as low/mid range clay cartridges. HOWEVER ! thats if they want to, my fear is greed will kick in and they will just see this as a profit...

Well you live and learn, I never realised that. However I must add ,that steel is not allowed at any grounds I visit. Thinking about the clay grounds I visit, the only things that can been seen as a ricochet threat are the skeet towers and their metal guards. Plus I suppose those metal boxes...

Reading the HSE document and reference is made to clay shoots having to change their target layouts and trap positioning to keep Steel safe. I would presume Skeet will be a thing of the past but the trap disciplines should have no problem

The beretta B Fast adjustable stock allows you to jack up the rear peg higher than the front. I t is very easy to set your comb parallel . Infact you can even get the rear peg higher so the comb slopes slightly forward

I think it was something like £15.40 for one month on a shotgun private sale the last time I used it. Then it went on wrong and was basically useless. Those guys are laughing at us shooters all the way to the bank

Just checked gun trader they have 1538 live private adds at £15 per month alone. They are raking it in and yet will not answer e.mails or phone calls.

Just checked out Tigger Traders and they look to have a far better site than gun trader. Their pricing structure is very good too as they are obviously looking to attract trade. I hope they expand , I will certainly use them soon after the way I was treated last time on gun trader.

I totally disagree with this part of your post. Gun shops and food outlets etc on clay grounds should be self funding and able to sustain themselves on a sound financial footing. Independent Gun shops in particular seem able to survive without clay ground subsidies, so I don't see why I should...

Nice to see our sport get some positive media exposure. Local Yorkshire TV tonight a nice article about Lucy Hall representing Trap at Olympics. Then on national news that followed , we saw a feature with Amber Rutter. All good stuff
