Fellas,

I understand it is early, yet trying to decide between this and the worlds in Spain.

I also understand tha the worlds in Spain will be a bigger event. I am more interested

in the shoot experience and have been told that Czeck is the better choice.

Would appreciate some pointers from y'all.

Coming from the North Carolina.

Best,

Chris Davis

Have been to Czech (Konopiste) and Dad has been to Czech and where the World will be in Spain before.

We agreed best choice is Czech, you definitely will not be dissapointed this is an awesome place the targets the ground everything thing is the bollox!

The Spanish ground is ok but it is in the middle of no where!

I am most likely going to the Czech shoot the Konopiste is awesome and you have loads of others things to see and do! I absolutely loved it and it rates as one of the best comps I have ever been too!

Glen.

will we need a rental car to get around in? or is that too much hassle in Prague?
Yeap because the shoot is miles away from the city.

If I still shot sppppporting I would say Konop because it is a fab set up and loved it. Hope they have sorted out the bio clays that would not break problem though!

If you have the dosh, then both because Madrid and it's people are great (although I have not shot at that particular ground, might take a look at it if time next month).

yeah rental car from airport book online in advance and get a deal is the best option.

Ground is I think about 2hrs max from Prague out towards Brno think it is bang in the middle between the two.

You wont have to go back to Prague City unless you want to do a trip for sight seeing there are plenty of good places to eat and thing to do near the ground.

There is hotel onsite at the Konopiste. I stayed here before Amber Hotel Konopiste was nice! Anywhere near to here is ideal!

Book your car through AutoEurope, they're a huge online rental agency working out of Maine in the US. I use them all over the world at every shoot we go to and they seem to offer the best overall deal with insurance etc. we always hire a Merc Vito or VW Caravelle as it's just so easy to travel with when there's 4 of you with guns, bags etc.

Another Hotel is Akedemie ... We stayed there for the Europeans a few years ago and the hotel was brand new.

The shoot is an hour and a bit south of Praha en route to Brno.

Be prepared, once you leave Prague, English is not spoken by many.

Spanish food is better !!!

konopiste is excelant targets the people the place are all great you gotta go,if i could get round i would book now.i herd the hotels were booked for sum big comfrence or sumthing so dont know if they changed the origanal dates or my source was talking sh.t.

I will try and find the name of the hotel we used if it helps anyone. It was a great old pile with a championship golf course.

Never mind the 2 balls or 4 ball competitions ....we did a 16+ ball....it was hilarious as most had not played before....they followed us all the way around in a golf buggy hidden in the trees to make sure we did not wreck the course ........!!

It is just over an hour.....and yes.....when you are out in the sticks none of the locals speak English (although ground people are ok).

Menus are not in English so it is just point and take a chance.....

Nicola,

any updates for places to stay? When will registration open? if you book a hotel do they require full payment or deposit with

balance due at check-in?

CD

I had a list of hotels for this somewhere - I'll see if I can get it and scan it in.

Benisov is the local town 20mins from the ground.Think thats how you spell it??

Info on Hotels here - http://englishsportingclays.co.uk/fitasc/european-championship

Zamek Stirin was where we stayed. Great fun.

Been there done that! Because you are in an Eastern Block X, Car rentals are more expensive! I have been to Europe every year since 2000! The cheapest rentals for us NA is from SIXT in Paris: 530 BMW Sationwagen WITH 20 INCH SPRTS PACKAGE NAVIGATION at $2100 and if I booked two months before $600 less! An E 260 MB from them last year for 29 days cost all of $2300 CDN! Book early and pay early! I am going to the Workld near Madrid! It is a lovely wine area. We will drive down from Paris!

Henry Thanks -

Received your message just busy with work as living in NC and working in Virginia, time goes quickly!!

no more of the Virginia landscape and will be in Dallas during the week and flying back home each weekend so the BMW will get some much needed rest.

read your info on the auto rentals, different question:

looks like at this point about a 13 hour flight - you or anyone have suggestions on how long to rid myself of the

jet lag?

Best,

CD

Here are some chips in Prague, yesterday

Depends on your constitution, CD! If you can sleep on the plane on the way over here, you should be ok the following day - you'll be flying through the night, so it might work.

I've done the flight many times over the years, and coming this way is the worst part! Get a few brandys down you and get to sleep. ;) :D

Yup, a few drinks before the flight and on the flight! I will get a few hours sleep. I find it harder coming back! Going East is like waiking up early for a goose hunt. Or like one flight to Schipol and ging into Amsterdam at 8am: WHat time is my body clock? 8 - 6= 2AM. Time for a beer! And I was not the only one at the bar!

I never ever had the car ordered from Europcar or Autoeurope! Also, if you rent outside of the Czech Republic, most if not all car rental companies won't let you drive into the Czech Republic with: Audi, BMW, MB, Volvo! You go at your risk and your personal cost!
