Win a major with TT1's and await Fiocchi's call!

I moved to Fiocchi after the spring price rise and am more than happy with TT1's. I currenty pay £221 a thou. I could shoot 10k Blackgolds or supremes a year and spend an extra £1100 (that's 2740 comp clays worth).

It's a no brainer.

PM.
Are they ok, they are £206/thousand local to me (plastic) but never tried any Fiocchi?

They do the job, no doubt about that. If you can get them at £206 you should because that's the cheapest I have seen anywhere since the latest price hike.

Infact if I could buy them right now at that price ,the only limit to the amount I would buy would be the strength of my cars suspension

That may be their old price as I was paying £206 until last month. Snap them up if the price is correct.

I seem to shoot better with cheap shells thankfully! Even at the new price they're a good buy.

From that price list I would buy the FIC19 as they are £674.00 per 1000 from justcartridges so a bargain at £188.28.

think you can conclude from that the price list is well out of date.

FIC19
FIOCCHI SEMI MAGNUM Plastic 12g 42grm BB shot
£4.71 per 25
£47.07 per 250
£188.28  Per 1000

They are probably the best budget load out there. Used a fair few. Can get them in the range of shot sizes too. And fibre. 8's do most any job on a sporting  layout. £206 sounds cheap now. They were 220 at garlands last week.

Do we over-think the cartridge thing?  Is it a head-game for normal mortals?  I've found that most that go 'bang' when the trigger is pulled have the capacity to break targets...what am I missing other than targets for not having put the lead in the right place?

My last two shoots have both featured some proper long targets, but always showing some face. I think if the 50+ yard targets were edge-on we might have to really worry about pattern quality, but it’s rare to see that. Is it that traps threw edgey targets more years ago and made the culture of top cartridges a thing?

The cartridges  I purchase from here, I pay the same as on the price list, maybe a mistake with the FIC19 but the price lists are not out of date

Is there really a big difference between the major brands? All made in a few factories around the world. Sometimes using the same components but different brand names. For me a good cartrige is one that produces good kills and shoots quite soft. I´m fine with Fiocchi TT two, Clever Mirage T2 or Eley Olympic Blues. Never had a failure, never lost one bird because of the cartridge.

Never heard of Clarkes before reading this thread. At those prices it’s worth a trip over to stock up and have a day out in the countryside! They are a lot cheaper than JC on many cartridges. I paid £6.50 a box for Express 7.5 in fibre at my local shot this morning.

Give them a call before you make a long trip to check stock (and price) but they have a warehouse full of various cartridges, very helpfull.

An interesting stat.

In Jan 2021 I bought Hull Superfast plastic for £184 a thousand. They are now £228.50. An increase of 24%.

In Jan 2021 Fiocchi fblu were £211 from the same supplier. They are now, after their february price rise, £230. An increase of 9%.

Food for thought.

PM.

Ps, the fblu also contain 1gm more shot and it's of higher antimony.

Only started using Fblu a little while ago, and what a fantastic cartridge for the price. I even prefer them to F3 reds. Would be nice if they did them in an size 8 as well though. The only carts I can find sub £240 are Fiocchi Litespeed, Hull Superfast and Hull Comp X. I'll shoot Superfast  & Litespeed fibres when practicing on grounds that are fibre only, but if I'm allowed plastic, then FBlu all the way.

Was told today that hull have increased their prices. Super fast apparently up £13 per 1000 to the shops. So VAT to top.

Can see hull going out of business the seem to be the firm with the most price rises

Not seeing reduced numbers shooting at the grounds, in fact never seen it so busy. Time will tell, doubt they will go out of business though.

Hull cartridges have taken another price hike at JC's. Sporting 100 now 284/1000, up £20/1000.

Superfast plastics £267 a thousand!! I was buying them locally 2 years ago for £184!

You have to wonder how JC survive.

PM.
