Well I know Carl Bloxham knows his stuff and so do the shop owners. As for the mods, well I'm not a sporting shooter, but I guess some will love such things and others will not! I'm sure some of the guys on here will have shot one of the modified guns at some point, so I guess you will soon get some informed advice. As for Miroku, well they are well made and cheap compared to many guns of a similar spec and quality. I think Bloxham now uses a K80 but I may be wrong.

These have been around a while. I remember seeing adverts for them at least 5 years ago.

They're very good, pretty much what a lot of experienced shooters end up modding their own guns like in the end.

I had one about 2 yrs ago. It was a grade 1 and didn't have the recoil reducer option. It was a good solid gun with an excellent choking system. Not sure that the porting is necessary mind, it certainly put off a number of potential buyers come sale time and I have never found muzzle flip to be an issue. All of the barrel work Is undertaken by Teague so you might want to buy a Miroku trap gun and ask him for a price for the mods direct. As for the reducer I wouldn't bother unless you suffer from recoil or you shoot a lot of trap.

Happy hunting!!

Steve

I bought a standard  MK38 Trap a few yrs ago, it now has Teague multi chokes , an ISIS recoil reducer fitted and an adjustable comb. You could buy it ' ready made'  and save the hassle

thanks guys I shoot a Mk70, 2011 model  with 30 inch barrels which I love , but getting more and more into clays and less into rough/pigeons  ,

so looking to add a gun to the collection.

I shoot one myself. Basically a grade 5 MK38 trap 32" with lengthened and polished forcing combs, Teague choke conversion and ported barrels. Mine has not got the recoil reducer.

Best gun I have ever shot and would never dream of getting rid of it.

Love mine, however when I come to replace it I will probably DIY it. As madmillie says I am not totally convinced of the need for the porting, I just find it throws a load of smeg all over the top rib.

The danuser it comes with is a fairly hefty unit and by various opinions on here I would go Isis next time if I have a recoil reducer at all (I broke my gd1 stock a while back and replaced it with a non reducer gd5)

The barrel work by Nigel Teague is fantastic, the thin wall chokes are suberb, adding no weight to the muzzle end and the fit is first rate. you have to look mighty close at the business end to spot a choke in there and there is no unsightly bulge at the muzzle like a factory multi.

All in all, a solid platform in the MK38 trap, enhanced and sporterised :D

Or you could choose a Beretta and get all the "extras" as standard.

Just a suggestion... :sarcastic:

Question is, would you rather have a custom Toyota or a bog standard Fiat  :spiteful:   :haha:

Can I keep my Audi ??  I think I'm going to have a chat with Brett Hand at Brierley Gun, I could always  go down the road of a standerd Mk38 with as you say

alterations to suite me,  which is probably take up table tennis , I have looked at the beretta 692 photos look nice

Current Miroku MK38s do not have a forcing cones to extend! The chamber leads gradually into the bore.

Barrel porting is not really fashionable unless you are a flautist ( Pied Piper)

Danuser and Gracoil are probably close runners up to a far superior British made Isis.

So that leaves you with either Teague chokes or opening the chokes up to your preferred constriction.

Do the sums a Bloxham special or the above for possibly about £1200 - £1700 total.

I'd get a grade 3 instead of a grade 1 next time just for the density of the wood

Higher grade is more dense therefore heavier and give better balance. Nicer feel to the gun. But that's just my preference.
