Are you meant to haggle when you buy a second hand gun?

It's just like buying a secondhand car. Always look for the best deal!

You might not always get the price down but could get extra's!

Do your interent research and say X has it at £Y.

I would rather buy from you at £Y but you are selling it for £Y+ or can you you do better than £Y?

With secondhand its a bit more difficult as age, use and wear and tear come into it.

You have to be able to say I'm prepared to give you £X but otherwise I'm going elsewhere and stick to it.

Absolutely. I have never ever paid marked price for new or used guns cars caravans motorhomes or pretty much anything. Like angel i would even more but Mrs ips cringes and walls away :)

You should definitely haggle, but there is no need to get them on the defensive by making a 'silly' offer, keep it light hearted, do your research on prices of the model your after and have a bit of fluffy rabbits, they'll be looking at you as a future customer for cartridges and accessories if it's your local Dealer, I've only paid the asking price for a gun if it was a private sale with no mention of "O.N.O" and I wanted it. Good Luck!

No dealer of anything will turn away a realistic offer in the current climate, in fact dealers in all goods apart from groceries expect to deal and mark up accordingly. I expect my brand new car to arrive next week, it took a trip to 3 dealers before one accepted my offer price of approx 18 % off list. Bid and bid hard they dont have to accept but if they do dont feel guilty they are still making money or they would not do the deal.

I hate that " Fluffy Rabbits " expression! How did it get in my post Matt?

If you combine the words "ban" and "ter" without spaces or and, it will give you

Always haggle...haggle for everything.  I will not pay full price for anything, unless I really have to.

Generally speaking, whatever it is you are buying...chances are you could buy it somewhere else...so why shouldn't they do you a deal?  OK, if they are successful enough that they don't need your business, bully for them.

Depending on the situation, a patsy is useful "I like the Browning in that other place Dad, the wood was nicer" and so on.

Have to say that, within reason, there's a lot more to it than just the best price. Essentially would you go to a crap dealer just to save a bit or pay a little more and have decent honest service. I know which I'd rather do and if that comes at a slight premium it's fine with me.

Depends on the gun and depends on how much you want it.
