Might have a job coming up in Australia that will put me over there anything from 3-12 months.

I will have plenty of time to Shoot while i am there. I want to take my gun with me, dose anyone know what

might be involved?

Thanks

A LOT of paperwork and restrictions when you get there. Probably much easier not to take your own gun out there, but am sure that there are foum members on here from Australia that could advise on what other options would be available once you get there.

If it is not a holiday visit....and if you are 'living' out there...then there licensing laws will kick in.....

So if it is just one work trip of a few months......then not worth taking your gun.

However if you want I will speak with the Aussies when at the competition in Madrid.....and find out the info.

When are you likely to go?

Got it thanks and replied.

Will sit them around the iPad and get all the answers for you.

Of course you're going to need me to carry said gun!.......eh...........si?

I have a number of friends from Aus that shoot and one that is a firearms dealer so depending on what part of the country you will be in can probably organise an intro for you.

From previous experience of visiting with a gun for competition I needed a permit from the state of first entry, as I spent some time in New Zealand and went to Aus into two states I needed two permits but if you just move between states you can get by with just one for where you enter. I'm not sure of the situation given that you could be staying for a year.

Let me know where you are going and ill check it out with my Aussie friend has the gun shop, will be shooting with him and several others from down under in Texas in the next few weeks so easy to get answers for you.

Info already given....from the Aussie Federation rep out here at the Madrid shoot.
