I have decided to go back to a Beretta.

It's not because I don't like the MK38, it's fine, but.

I trapped my finger in the bottom of the action in the little window where it shuts and I NEVER want to do that again !!

Seriously, it friggin hurt and I have lost a cm off the pad of my finger, so it's done already, bought a cheap SV10 and gonna stick with that from now on.

ouch, I bet you didn't swear at all :)

Beretta .... good move

Well there is always first time for someone doing something daft :) ! I am sorry you hurt yourself how did you manage to do that ? Hope you recover soon!

I did the same with my old Beretta 682. Luckily I always wear gloves so it just took a chunk out of my MacWets.

I was in too much of a hurry getting the gun open again to work out how on earth my little finger was hanging about under there, so no idea how it happened.

SV10 is a nice Beretta, I'm breaking a new 30' one in after years with a 28' 682 Gold and really enjoying it :spiteful:

Wez, I simply cannot believe that you are changing your gun because of an error on your part! Let's put it this way mate,if I were to stupidly shut my finger in my front door at home (which I have done several times!), I wouldn't move house because of it. :haha:

It's not the only reason obviously, it was a touch tounge in cheek, it was the straw that broke the camels and all that....

The MK38 was an experiment, I simply miss the Beretta too...

And before any one says "you haven't had it long enough" etc, better to change back sooner than later.... in my opinion, and get on with the long haul picture learning thing.

I see where you're coming from Wez, I normally know within a couple of hundred shells if a gun is going to do it for me or not. Mind you I have been wrong several times!!!!

Ironically I'm in the exact opposite frame of mind to you, I have always loved Beretta guns and I love my 682 golde, after many years of gun fitting and fiddling its time to concede defeat and admit we are never going to gel, so I have cast my eyes towards other guns:(. It could be the grail gun mentality creeping in. What put you off the mk38 as this is an option I'm looking at.

1.Trapping my finger
2. The stock came loose whilst shooting
3. Stock tapping me in the face, softly but annoyingly.
4. Never noticed recoil before at all. Do with mk.
