How about you live your life your way in the US. Leave us to worry about how we ALLOW our police force to enforce the laws of our country, set out by our Parliament. No offence mate but it's our country our rules. We don't need you to wish us luck, we do OK thanks. :nyam:

Funny isn't it, how our country does not need to arm the majority of our police officers, whereas Wonkos fellow countrymen are all armed to the hilt as are ALL their police forces.

Sorry Charlie but I find your spoutings quite offensive, especially as you qualify your own position by saying you know nothing of our laws etc.  That being the case how can you spout such crap about how we are "bending over".

I for one would rather people that pose a possible threat are disarmed (after all we are not talking about hanging/shooting/lethally injecting them) and if proved/shown/found to be innocent then re-instated with their guns, than have them run amock through schools etc (or even harm just one person) and say afterwards "we should have....."

It is always interesting to learn how folks cope with social/political situations different than in the US.  Not particularly comforting, but for a while the legal system in place here will provide some impediment to implementing a GB similar grass roots type of court.  Not that it can't happen, but I'll likely not live to see it.  Thankfully.

As Phil and others have adequately illustrated here: this whole thing comes down to, 'prevention is better than cure'.

We can always return a person's guns to them if they've no case to answer - rather that, than appearing in a Coroner's Court explaining why you didn't act to prevent the deaths of the victims of some bellend with a insufficient grasp in his temper after having shot dead X number of people.
