Someone (thanks LHS) sent me a replacement recoil pad for my 686E - the new one is gel-tek, but also has a shiny surface, so I can ditch the tatty looking electrical tape on mine.
My understanding was that a Philips screwdriver down the little holes in the existing pad would help me undo the old pad - but no such luck, I can't get the screws to turn.
Note - please bear in mind that I am not mechanically minded (bits and bytes I can do - not bits and bobs ) and most of my tools came from Christmas crackers, but I know a Phlips screwdriver and I have a couple of those - so am I doing something wrong? Is there a trick to this?
Am off to eat a hearty steak dinner in case it's a muscles thing.
