Pad felt good. However hard to make real comparison due to shooting fibre carts and with hangover!

Doubt tomorrow due to H2O falling from sky..

Nic or clever or mike please post pics so we can see the finished result please.

I have emailed some pics to Matt, who might be kind enough to publish here.

I finished my stock a while back and slightly rounded the stock end in the process, so the join line with the pad shows up a touch more than it would otherwise. It is a good fit though. Dave at Isis did say that I supplied it back to him with a tidy scribe line, which helps him..

Clever - how does that feel to mount from 'gun down' - it looks like it might catch a little bit?

Gun down? why would I do that? Like starting a running race with my laces undone!

Seriously, haven't tried. But it is angled at the top to counter just that problem, so better than a normal pad? If you look, you will see that there is a `grip patch` in the middle of the pad for, err... grip once mounted. The rest of the material is fairly slippery.

I shoot gun down with mine and it's ok. The pads no rubber in it and it's not grippy at all on the sides, I'm well chuffed with it.

I have yet to try it with my usual cartridges and cant wait. The only other thing is to decide whether or not to use the supplied marker pen to colour over the green. I am mindful of the old adage: Once you go black, you can't go back..

What? I mean it cannot be erased.

many thanks clever and matt.

just fitted mine myself and wasn't too bad a job ,but i did use the industrial linisher at work.also did a natty adjustable one for mrs jasper . bit like a jones adjuster but with the pad integral . nice!!!! must say it feels a tad bigger in the shoulder but that = more contact area = less felt recoil. haven't shot with it yet but the hammer test result was an eye opener. even the non shooting guys at work could see/ feel the difference. been doing some dry mounts(ahem!) and it feels more positive in the shoulder. will shoot it for the first time sat .report to follow. I'm with Nic on this one . green is the future

Green has to be the future after Clevers 'Black' comments....... .

It looks good ...stands out ....shows you are not a sheep .....

Just properly shot the gun for the first time with the ISIS pad on, at RBSS Classic.

Very good. There is a strange `deadness` as you fire. I straighted the stand with the sim aways for the first time. Lack of muzzle flip helps. The scorer commented on how stable the gun muzzle looked. Verdict: A success.

Its still in green at the moment..

i propose that all shootclayers should keep their isis pads green . like the 90's kawasaki's. TEAM GREEN.

Nice going Clever :) , just out of interest why have you never gone the route of the whole shebang? I always wonder why people shoot standard guns, I can understand not wanting to alter expensive Perazzi's but who cares for a few grand when it saves so much fatigue and besides if we all did it then re-sale would be a non-issue which in reality it is anyways, those with a recoil reducer sell faster if anything.

Hi Hamid

I still have the option of going for a full recoil device (sprung pistons etc.). Happy for now, so see how it goes. I shot with Ed Solomons recently, who has a hugely heavy Perazzi , but still has full recoil kit on it. Can't be a bad idea..

shot today for the first time with the team green pad .130 targets with fibre wad thumpers, no ill effects shoulder feels better than it has for months.. as clever says , feel dead in the shoulder . managed 45 ex 50 for joint 2nd and a nice pick up. 47 ex 50 won . put some good shooters to bed , . so happy. grange here we come ........was really a bit sceptical that a pad could make that much difference but intial thoughts are very positive.

update .

after shooting westfield today ,a total of approx 230 carts for the weekend , the shoulder feels great. think i may be still reacting to recoil which now isn't there .so some work still needed by me .

could these pads be the best kept secret in shooting?

I have just re read this whole thread. I continue to be happy with my Isis pad, but 'the whole shebang' of fitting a recoil damper unit still appeals.

So my question to the fonts of all knowledge on here is, which one? The Isis, Danuser, or other. Would love to hear from somebody who has used both.

CSC3

I have had both and the Isis is better in every respect in my book. See if you can give them both a try and see what you think but I'm 100% happy with mine.
