Hi Everyone
If you were going to have a bespoke stock made for your sporting clays gun, who would you commission to do this and why would you choose them?

Many thanks in advanced for any insight you could share.

This was what I ended up from Manuel Ricardo in the above link. £2K for the stock and forend, plus travel expenses. Got the oil finish on it from Matt Hannaford of Gloss Gun Stocks on Facebook.
Daz, Great looking stock are you pleased with the final fit?

A couple of interesting international options. I’d also love to get some feedback on UK stock makers that people have used for sporting clays guns..

A lady friend who shoots an F3 had a custom stock made for her went here https://www.midlandsgunservices.com/custom-stocks .

Then get works very well for her as well as lowering the recoil compared to the Blaser stock.
How much? I know it's taboo, but ball park figures help a lot with deciding where to go.

I hate going somewhere with no chairs or a handy de fib machine when the tell you how much. I like to be prepared 😉

Midland Gun Services for me too. They made me a shock for my K80 where my finger actually reaches the trigger (unlike the off the shelf ones). Cracking work. I'd rather spend my cash keeping a UK gunsmith in business than going overseas - also has the advantage that if it needs any tweaks they are easier to go back to

You might remember Tim Greenwood who used to write in clay shooting magazine and wrote about stock fitting / making, might be worth a look 👍
Tim does exceptional work but is just getting over a major operation. I expect he’s itching to get back into it again though.

Not sure how much he's doing at the moment, saw something on Facebook a few months ago about him going in for an emergency bypass.

I think it was about £1500, but if there's a problem they are in this country.

Six years ago.

That's a significantly different price to what they quoted me over the phone a few years ago. Infact it was over double that for stock only with no adjustable comb.
When I went to MR, there was also a Candian chap who had flown over. The price for him to get one made in Canada was insane.

Mine was about 18 months ago. £2k for just the stock. Didn't need to change the fore end and they made a great job of matching it.
