And your thoughts on the same shot with 1/4 choke? For goodness sake, keep it simple. There’s no need to choke tightly for any domestic discipline. Even edge on trap clays can be confidently shot with 1/2 choke.
Jan knows his stuff, but does not get/ care that that 80% of shooters don’t shoot trap. 1/4 for most of sporting will likely do the trick. And your thoughts on the same shot with 1/4 choke?
Thank you Will. It’s perhaps not surprising I’m looking at this from a trap point of view, we’re discussing it on the trap forum!Jan knows his stuff, but does not get/ care that that 80% of shooters don’t shoot trap. 1/4 for most of sporting will likely do the trick.
I once had a multi choke trap gun, in fact I’ve had two over the years. Yes it is possible to shoot 1/4 and half for DTL. I tried it several times and it was ok but the breaks were not that nice. I’ve even shot OT with half choke in the bottom tube. But personally I still prefer 3/4 and full. But each to his own of course, just don’t fiddle too much, it will do your head in.And your thoughts on the same shot with 1/4 choke?
