Has any one heard of these guns ive read a few reviews they seem ok . Im looking at getting one as my first gun .

AAAAARRRGH....

My advice is steer clear.  The quality may be better these days, but a dealer I know used to call them Bettinsoli boomerangs... cuz they kept coming back!  I bought one as my first gun about 6 years ago, purely because it was brand new and cheap.  Worst decision I ever made!  It was OK for a while, then the problems started -  problems opening it, second barrel non-fires... wasn't a good idea.

More experienced people will be along soon to tell you to go second hand Beretta/Mirook/Browning.

second hand quality. the betts had/have lots of probs with second barrel failing to fire . have a look in the archive on here as this has been covered before.

Daz you are far better off getting a second hand Miroku/Browning or a second hand Beretta as said above. Bettinsoli are not exactly well thought of to be honest.

In that case
They used to be very popular with skeet boys years ago, I seem to remember that Ken Harman used one to great effect back in the 80's. Apparently he used to always carry two of them due the failure rate!

My one's simply amazing. (For an Auto!!)

Thanks for ur help guys i think im still goin o/u will go have a look at the shop this weekend

At the end of the day Daz, you've got to buy whatever you can afford, if that isn't a leading brand it isn't. But some of the cheaper brands are better than others. Buy what you can afford and get shooting. But be prepared to lose a lot more of your money on depreciation with a cheaper brand. Its ok everyone saying you must buy Berreta and miroku etc, but if you have a tight budget you do, i shot a baikal 627 for years, £200 brand new and never missed a beat, shot pretty well with it too.

Hi Daz, I bought one as my first gun, had many problems with it, eventually, after wasting months of repairs etc, traded it in for a second hand Browning.

Daz, new to the sport, I did heaps of research on my first gun and got the overwhelming impression it was best to stick with the bigger brands.

I went off to my local gun shop to make my first purchase and the old boy behind the counter gave me the best advice. He said start cheap, learn how to shoot properly then come back and see me in a year and I'll sort you out. I brought a well looked after bettinsoli for £350, it hasn't missed a trick. Great gun, fits me well and it's a pleasure to use. I haven't had any problems with mine shooting 100 sporting, once a week for the past six months.

He could have done a number on me and sold me a gun with a 'better' reputation but he didn't. Talking about where I was at with the sport at the time, it felt like the right purchase to make. He also said that if I did ever have any probs, I could go back an see him and he'd sort me out which was reasurring.

Im looking forward to buying my next gun but I'm in no hurry as I'm enjoying shooting with the bettinsoli; I personally think they're great guns.
