You're probably not too far from Richard Chapple's ground 'Broadmoor'. His practice targets will be correctly set as the ground offers registered ESK and Richard knows about targets - and how to shoot skeet.
Setting up your own ground seems a bit drastic, not to mention costly. Constant 'solo' shooting with a time delay might hinder improving your scores in competitions with full squads.....

 
Not too far from me is a fully working skeet range that is just left to rot cause its on an army base and they want to sell the land for development. There used to be a hay baler on this spot for years till the tenant died and the mod won't let anyone else use it.

 
MOD are very aware of ground contamination from lead shot.  Rifle butts concentrate the spent bullets that can be dug up and recycled but that is not the same for shotgun lead pellets.
