it will be much the same I would think.

I am beginning to think that there are way to many disciplines many of which are not well attended DT being prime example and UT another. Now we even have fedecat a thing no one has heard of and appears to be UT in disguise.
Sorry Ian I don't get that can you tell me the too many disciplines to which you refer ? And why do you  think that UT is  not well attended ? If Fitasc had got their act together and held the WC at Ychoux there would have been a guaranteed 600 shooters present at the championships at Grenada there were more than 500 and most others have gathered a good number of shooters. The way I see it there are really only three truly international world championship trap events OT and UT. Helice has its following but is badly attended I would agree.

apart from dtl no trap discipline in UK is well attended, abt ut ot you would struggle to get over 100 entries even for the major shoots. If there was only dtl and ot then maybe being "forced" to shoot one or the other attendance would increase. I believe country such as Italy have little choice hence hundreds of entries even for a fifty bird Sunday ot shoot. Too many disciplines mean that all of them suffer from being diluted. Just my opinion of course.

There is a lot of truth in there Ian mainly due to the pressure on trap from sporting. Down here it is trap that is the major discipline and UT takes the top spot. The reasons for that are simple clubs are owned and run by the members so the outlay for 10 traps to make two trenches is way less than 30 for two. With two UT trenches you can have a good competition once a month and entries are normally about 75 - 90 shooters. The club I shoot at has one UT and one OT but 90% of the time the OT is used for UT simply because all the league competitions are for UT we have one month of the season when the OT is run and a competition for 50 UT and 50 OT. One other thing about competitions down here is, I think, they are relatively expensive to enter. For example the club I shoot at charges members €3.50 for 25 FU or FO non members pay €5 BUT a 100 target competition costs €40 or €45 . I think it is down to the way the prize money is distributed each category can have prizes down to 15th place and the high gun prize is €90 the runner up gets €85! The idea is there is no pot hunting going on... it is a day out and a good way of catching up with friends and having fun not a way of earning money.
