A quick update - the FEO has just left and was happy with my fitting of the cabinet, in the end I cut out the skirting and fitted the cabinet upside down with the door opening from the wall side as advised on here, the FEO did say I would have been ok with a box underneath the cabinet to raise the height but he was more than happy with how I had done it. 6/8 week wait now, all good!
Great!

+ 1 for the fitting... upside down for door access and cut out skirting (even removed the plasterboard and sunk into wall). Mrs Flintstone said it ‘looks tidy’ once I’d finished, and that’s better than any FLO opinion 😂.
Oh, and the screw holes that your left with on the top (what was the ‘bottom’ of the cabinet)... put a nice piece of finished wood over it, screwed up from inside, makes a nice shelf for bits of kit.
FWIW, it took exactly 3 weeks from my visit to my cert dropping onto the doormat. Don’t think lockdown will affect that bit... just a print up of cert and a signature from the local Chief Officer on it.

Of course... You then need the shops to be open...!
