Had a few people say VIPs are dirty, never ever found that, shot quite a few thousand and no issues, nice hard shot, great kills and clean, maybes just me and Mr XS just work well with them, I am only wanting to test the water so to speak with a few other shells so I know how the rest perform, I'm not about to break up a happy partnership, but it is good to know what is out there.

Does a dirty barrel make you lose confidence in the shell's ability to destroy a target ?

Not at all but it's a byproduct of certain cartridges that I don't want.....given the choice.Find velocities much cleaner but may be somthing to do with them suiting overbored barrels?

Just goes to show how our perceptions of what works for each of us differs. I stopped using kents because of the soot coming out of the gun each time it was fired & the time it took to clean it afterwards. I can often spot a kent or an english sporter user by the cloud in the sky on firing. But if they knock down the targets for a shooter then they have to be ok.

I've put about 5k of Kent Velocity through my gun since November and have never seen this cloud of whatever.

I use plaswad, so maybe you're talking about fibre. Never used the fibre ones so couldn't comment on those.

Would like to call your bluff on that, however may well have somthing to do with the way the cartridge has been stored pre/post purchase!

Nothing wrong with Kents. I'm not going to claim that they're the best cartridge ever, there's too much of that old cobblers going on already :spiteful: but they're OK. Again, I don't know anything about fibre.

Historically, they weren't so good, but that was nothing to do with clouds or dirt. They used to knock your teeth out. :yell:

I dont get the whole "i dont like them because they are dirty" thing. Who cares!? The next shell will push any crap out... If they feel comfy to shoot and they break birds, thats all Id worry about.

Thank god I'm not the only person who doesn't give a sh*te about the whole 'dirty' thing...next well will be back to talking about 'plastic fouling'...

I like using the shell's that I use. I don't care if anyone else likes them. I don't want other shooter's to use the same . I'd like other shooter's to use worse cartridges than the one's I use.  Coz then i got a chance :D

Couldn't agree more Ed.

I clean my gun after shooting anyway, so what difference?

I did admit in my post that if they hit the clay they gotta be right. :hunter:

I think you have a vivid imagination. :ermm:
Honest Chard I often spot em from behind before I've seen whats being used, just about everywhere we shoot is fibre only though.
