Email emtec and they will refer you to one of their specialists local to you (mine was an ent consultant at the radcliffe hospital) who will take your moulds, payment and colour. They will send them to emtec and about a week later they will be on the doormat

Flouro green for me... never lost, even with colour blend eyes

All booked in. Local Audiologist they recommended is less than 15 mins from my workplace so popping out at lunch today to get my impressions done. Lucky I got in as the chap doing the impressions is away after tonight for Easter week so I would have had to wait another 2 weeks almost.

If anyone else is interested in these or finds this thread in future searches here is the additional info I received:

If you email Emtec from their website http://noisebreaker.com/ with your postcode they are very fast to respond. A pair is £75 + vat so £90. Normal turnaround is 4-5 weeks. £10 fee gets you express turnaround of 5 days. £5 extra for a cord. Colour options are:

beige

blue

red

orange

pink

light green

You pay the full fee to the Audiologist they send you to for the impressions.

Think that’s about it.

Cheers

Simon

Excellent work Simon - you won't regret.

In fact - I keep meaning to get another pair made as spare... I shall do that when I get back next week.

You know i might have a go with a pair of these, been using cheap pelltor ear muffs for £18 which i find spot on, but do fancy something a bit more discrete. Good reviews guys!

Defenders all the way for me......been hit by a couple of big clay fragments which have thankfully bounced off my peltors in the past....plugs would have meant a few more lumps and bumps in my already beautiful face.......

Yes, I can hear you all falling about laughing........

I had a pair of moulded plugs made recently by Antone from Custom Ear Protection and they cost just £55 for a vented pair without batteries or anything else! They just cut out pretty much everything but the venting allows release of some pressure from within your ear as i suffer from tinatus (too much shooting) and so the ringing isn't too bad! Wish I'd bought them years ago as I don't like defenders and the foam plugs just haven't offered enough protection!

Have a look at www.customearprotection.co.uk

I use the ear moulded type and cannot fault them, you don't need the digital expensive types as they are only really for game shooting.

I personally get a few sets with the valve type each time I go out to America as they are only $45 a set, far too expensive over here.  :nyam:

Might be a bit late on this but I can recommend CENS, amazing comfort and lovely sound, completely forget there in..

I visited the same chap at the Radcliffe hospital who was spot on, the service was superb and the product is excellent. Have had mine for about a year now and am very happy with them. Thoroughly recommended

Fully agree with Hayter Had my Cens over a year and IMHO they are one of the best buys I've made. I literally forget they're in. great for normal conversation, defo dampen the sound when on a busy shooting ground. If I had to be really critical the battery life is about half of the stated but that's due to the batteries nominally discharging even when the Cens are switched off that's just the way batteries of this kind are designed. A friend of mine who uses the same batteries in hearing aids confirmed this as well as advising not to use the same size by Duracell. had to test them myself and can confirm the Duras are indeed sh*te and didn't last a day! Back to Cens I bought the Proflex digi-1 without the hunting button £350 inc moulds which I had done in spec savers and sent them off to a dealer up north. Four days later the Cens complete with accessories in a steel box arrived! No idea why down south I was quoted 500 quid!!!!!!

Bottom line is what price do you put on your hearing? Personally I like Cens that's just my preference but im not gonna rave about them but it doesn't mean they are any better or worse than cheaper or more expensive ones thats where all the techy stuff comes in. Whatever you wear if you feel it gives you the protection and comfort you need at a price you can afford good on ya!
