Slightly tongue in cheek topic....having almost taken bostonmick's opinions please thread down a completely different line (sorry bostonmick) but in interested in your thoughts...

Do you like shooting with women? Do you find it distracting? Does it make you shoot better or worse? And does it make you want to do better if they beat you?

My own experience has been that all the guys at my club are now taking it a lot more seriously now I can beat them...well if I have a good day and they have a bad one that is...

Just interested what you all think...or if you think we should stay at home with our knitting (you know who you are!  :haha:  )

I don't like being beaten by anyone not bothered how old or what sex.

I don't have a problem shooting with women or indeed young folk as long as they know what there doing.

I am not aware of shooting any differently shooting with women.

I'm happy to shoot with any gender, if they are better than me then maybe I can learn from them. The old stereotypes are on there way out..

Doesn't bother me and I'm well used to being beaten by Rachel and Rosie, Sara ...... The list goes on ;)

I love being beaten by a girl.....it shows that the bar is always going up.....and i take pleasure in it when ever I see it......(which was last on Sunday at ABT.....well done Ann Butler....another DTL shooter I think....who is trying ABT now......very nice girl).

And it then gives you an added extra to work for next time.

Depends on who is doing the beating!!!

Happy to shoot with anyone regardless of age, gender, race, belief, sexual orientation, skill level, I just try and keep away from the flatulent ones, I don't tend to get distracted, I just switch off when I'm in the stand and then back on when I'm out.

May possibly just get a little distracted if someone were to turn up in just alpacca socks, but only coz I'd be concerned they may get cold or stub a toe or such like, always good to shoot with a varied group, there is always something to learn - even if it's a new joke.

I often shoot with and am beaten by women it's certainly not a problem for me, they're much better company and don't want to discuss football, cars and beer continuously!

Just remind me what you said at the Helice.....about the 'cups being moved over'

Joking apart peeps,

i have always thought that it shows strength of a mans character when their wife or partner can beat them......and there are no tears afterwards....(well after the first 10 times..... )

The more it happens the less they are seen as a woman shooting.

Shooting is more mental than physical, I keep trying to get my wife to shoot, she would be great she's completely nuts.:p

I might have a problem shooting on a squad with Melanie Sykes !!

Not that I would be bothered being beaten by her (or any other 'lady' shooter) but more to do with the distraction :spiteful:

I'll get my coat

No problem for me shooting with or getting beat by a woman.

If you get beat by anyone, man, woman, junior or colt, you obviously were not good enough on the day.Must try harder.

I was thrashed in OT practice by Abbey Burton a few weeks ago, but it was a pleasure, she really is such a pleasant and polite young lady!

The only person who I hate being beaten by is me...!  (apologies for the grammar!)

Anyone else - man, woman, child or anything in between, is not a problem, just means I wasn't good enough on the day.  :hi:

Don't enjoy being beaten by men of equal ability because it tells me I'm performing below par but personally have always really marvelled at the many great  lady shooters over the years. I have to date not had the pleasure of being in such esteemed company but would treasure the chance of being in a squad with the likes of Cheryl Hall who I have long wanted to watch shoot.
