Gosh, what a can of worms! What a world class tw*t!

Apart from the obvious dismay, my attention was drawn to the defendant - for whom I have nothing but scorn - was treated lightly because he didn't actually pull the trigger. It would appear his gun went off all of its own accord, it seems the gun was a cheaply made thing with a potentially lethal firing pin that possessed a mind of its own. Perhaps we should be told the make and model so we can warn people off.

But assuming the thing fired of its own volition when the bolt was "pumped" forward, then surely the chap must have noticed the bang, and surely it must follow that subsequent shots were intentional?

my first thoughts were it was a winchester sxp as they have had a recall on  these as some go off when pumped..alas no.

just some tw*t running around a clayshoot pissed with a personal defence/practical shotgun....WTF was he doing with it,showing of he was the big i am?

should have got 5 years for gross stupidity!

got to wonder if he actually drove there and the police failed to pick up on that, nevermind he owns a jag garage.

Only two rounds in the gun, he managed to have it pointing at three people went it went off though. Not difficult with a shotgun.

He owns a BMW garage not a Jag one. ( Typical of a BMWer to own the cheapest crap about though! Brandarm Maar Windgat we used to say in SA! ( loosely translates to 'p..s poor but still showing off' )   :)   :) :) )

If the gun is that dangerous and cheap why is it allowed to be sold here in the UK?

Regardless of the gun involved why didn't someone from the ground throw this a..hole out? 3 times over the drink drive limit must have been blatantly obvious to staff, refs, fellow shooters even though his solicitor said 'he thought he was sober at the time'. ( Yeah right! )

'Bailed until sentencing on December 21' 7 months till sentencing wtf!

Hang on it's the daily mail ........... not a single decent journalist on the staff there!

Regardless of a faulty gun. It should have been pointing down range as he loaded it and remained pointing in that direction until fired intentionally or by accident and then cleared . Absolutely no excuses.

No idea what make / model. The pic is just a library pic. Not of the gun itself.

Plus - that story's from November 2012!

As David says no excuses for this kind of gun handling.

If anyone points a gun at me loaded or unloaded I will use there ass as a gun rack.

Its possible to be over the drink drive limit and look and act perfectly normal.

Your body  and how you process alcohol has a bearing too

:santa:

He shot and peppered people standing in the next lane, presumably this means the next stand ? If so there is no way it could have been a mere 10 feet distance because 140 pellets at that kind of distance would likely remove the limb.

Those around this guy at the time should have realised he was in no fit state to be handling a gun but yes I have to agree it is clearly 90%+ because he owns a BMW garage !  :???:

That would probably make them the Butt of a few jokes for years to come!!!!!!  :D

i was searching "charity clay shoot 17/5/2015" in bingle and all i noticed was the date at the top of the page...today!

guess i should get both eyes open before i post

This sad story has been around previously.

Have a look at the date on the newspaper report.

webber

guys i know most involved in this terrible incident!!!!!! it was not a good day for them all. the exact story is never published in the press (certain amount of manipulation) went on.....

Despite the obvious jokes and side comments, let's not loose sight of the basic principles here. This guy was said to have not drunk alcohol that day, however he was hung over from the night before and was still 3 times over the limit.

Also, regardless of the car he drives or gun he owns, he pointed a loaded gun at people...... end of.

How many would stand by and allow a mate to drive home if s/he were in that state, yet this guy's "mates" must have thought it ok to shoot with him? We all have a responsibility to each other, BMW driver on not.

Sorry for the mini rant, I just think it's a salutatory lesson that should not be diluted with witticisms or over analysis.
