My boy is nearly seven and quite enjoys coming along, he is kept busy with the button and keeping score (and reminding me how many I've missed on the trot!!) he has peltor cans and always wears glasses.

My other boy is 2 and I wouldn't dream of taking him anywhere near the shooting ground!

 
Sorry, another vote for not doing it.

If your partner wants to be along with you that's great ...... really you are fortunate in that regard. A shotgun club is no place for a baby/toddler. Introducing your kids to your hobby is a great idea but make no mistake it is best done when they can participate in some way. I introduced my two to both flying and sailing and although they enjoy both occasionally it didn't 'take' the way the hobbies have with me. 

Days spent traipsing around after dad could end up in resentment.
