Hello all, was just hoping to pick some brains regarding an issue which has arisen on the better half's gun.

She has a 525 light which was purchased new around 4 months ago.  All has been fine until recently when the ejectors are failing to remove the spent cartridges when the gun is opened.  It started in intermittently but appears to be getting worse. It is going back to the gun shop as its still under warranty however, I was just wondering what peoples thoughts were?

I'm hoping to avoid the usual comments about buying browning in the first place, as she'll probably club me to death with it.

Cheers.

it is possible the transfer rod has bent, on a new gun there is a lot of force on the rods and springs ?  isolated problem, as this system has been around for donkeys years. I`m sure it will be sorted quickly . there is a 10year  guarantee on the mechanicals,, if you registered the bar code with browning! very serviceable guns in my opinion.

Is it both barrels or just one? All the time or intermittent?

Hey all, apologies for the delay - this work malarkey gets in the way of my social life!

I cleaned and greased the ejectors myself and it is still happened once or twice on both barrels.   It is definitely an intermittent fault so it will most likely be going back to the shop for checking.  I'll stick it on here if they come back with anything ground breaking.   On a more important note, my 725 is going great!

Cheers,

On mine, a Fabarm Axis, it was an ejector cocking rod that had bent and wouldn't move through the channel to, well, **** the ejector. The ejector itself was fine. Rods were replaced and it's back to normal. Gun was properly cleaned, oiled and greased, and no one could explain what had caused the problem.

I'd send it back while it's still intermittent and get it sorted out properly.
