I’ve only been shooting for 2 years….4 times a month and just clays. I treated myself to a gun fit session a month ago, something I accept I should have done at the point of purchase. In short, I felt I was holding the gun too high on the shoulder which was confirmed politely “I’ve seen worse”

Aside of poor gun mount which I’m working on post session (adjustable comb now fitted) I was advised that whilst I was definitely right eye dominant (right shoulder mount), my left eye is interfering, the solution to which was to add a small opaque patch to the left lens of my glasses.

Whilst accepting and respecting my game has been reset and I need to relearn gun mount, this bloody patch (15mm diameter) is really pissing me off.

Are there any other options such as ‘easy hit beads’

Thank you

I am true left eye dominant and shoot from the right shoulder. I have tried lots of gimmicks. Just closing my left eye right before taking the shot worked for a while. At some point, after shooting for about 2 years, somehow I automatically started to shoot 2 eyes open whilst looking with my right eye. No problems, only at times when I am tired. Then my left eye takes over. Fixed that with just sticking a small piece of transparant tape over the left lens in my shooting glasses. Right at the spot where my left eye can see the bead while mounted.

The patch doesn’t have to be solid or 15 mm. I use the sort of dots opticians use to occlude vision , they are semi transparent and in general use sit a bit higher than the pupil of my eye not noticeable at all . However when the head is on the stock , I look into the semi transparent patch . Up to the full gun mount I’m unaware of the patch , even with the gun mounted I’ve got peripheral vision , I just don’t see the side of the barrels . Look for Red Kite master eye dots on eBay
