Shot f black trap at dtl for the time on sun. The 1st dtl i have shot for 6 months and can report they were excellent. I adopt a more upright stance on dtl as i find it steadies the swing therefore recoil can be an issue but they were like shooting 24g shot a 99-292 i have no idea why i missed it but can assure you it wasnt the fault of the cartridge. Worth 20 quid more than Olympics ? A matter of opinion but f black for me from now on.

O T shot choice

i have used 8.5 28 grm f blacks at ot through half a half and got good breaks on the second shot but they are a bit chippy for my liking,so 7.5 would maybe be better on the second shot.

Now the problem is what combo to use when in comp and using 24gram

Never been a fan of combo loads myself. I shoot uk 7 or 7.5 for all trap be it 24 or 28. I used to shoot 8s for abt but the targets are so demanding now harder hitting shot is required IMO. A recent convert to fiocchi has meant uk 7 equivalent so if the Italians think 7s are the way to go who am i too argue.

Ps- the kills are so good with f black that few bits are available to shoot which is frustrating but equally very impressive. :)

Sssssssssh you are not allowed to name great companies like Fiocchi who everyone know are brilliant performers across the range.....because it is thought to be advertising or pimping products and no longer just simple recommendations .....you will get in trouble ..... but glad you have joined the Fiocchiiiistas

A name I might add that Fiocchi and the Italians have now warmed to (laugh out loud) and when introducing photographs of winning shooters at the weekends......on the Facebook groups.....they now refer to them as Fiocchistas.

I just love starting trends....especially abroad where they are appreciated

(P.s. For the sake of clarity, this is not an advert, this is a true story......no animals have been hurt whilst posting this post.)

Oh really?.... I never had a problem being called a Fioccher   or a Fiocchiiiiiista.

Both have style.

I've shot a fair few of Fblue in 24gm and found the recoil level quite low, the last 500 tended to leave a bit of plastic fouling just after the forcing cone, don't know why though, the previous  4500 were OK.

I tried 25 Fblack in 24 gm on Saturday. I was having a shot using my auto thank goodness, for me very heavy recoil and these were the Trap version so they tended to throw a tight pattern with just 1/4 choke.

I would use the Blue ones again but not the Black ones.

I watched a shooter using 28gm Fblack through a Mk38 Trap gun the recoil was pushing his shoulder back about 4" and his head was lifting off the stock. The bloke was not a novice either, he's an experienced shot. Not very good at all for a pain free life.

i find this strange as black IMO is way way sweeter than blu ?

Just goes to show how different people have different recoil capacity.

Grab them young

Very true, I shot Oakedge today and used 50 Fblu 28g and 50 Fblack 28g Sporting. Having 'read' that the blacks were thumpier I was very pleasantly suprised at how much smoother the blacks felt to me compared to the blues.

In Fiocchi terms I've only ever shot 24g Fblu's in my O/U's up to now but I supspect I'll be moving onto the Fblack 28g Sportings.

Iggy.

F black sporting through your new 692 iggy I bet any recoil is negligible ....smooooooth

Nic can we buy fiocchi branded gear? I've come over all corporate

Cheers SoR, I must admit this is the first o/u I've had that I've wanted to put 28g shells through and it does feel very smooth indeed.

Today was only its second run out and I put in a 74 at Oakedge, so rather cuffed all round.

I had an email last night advising me that skeet vests were available.

I should have sizes and prices later today, and will post on here.

Shot an abt pool shoot off today as a handicap by distance of 30 ish yds and f black trap 28g killed as good at this extreme range as they do at normal abt range. Very impressive.

Ps. Yes i did win :)
