Beretta 302

1982

£300

No - sadly, but did sell in 1985 for around the same price.

That was the first gun I bought, but my dad gave me his old (1950's) side-by-side in 1978 when I moved north and had access to a few acres to shoot on.  No idea what make the gun is (no indication at all), but I still have that.  In the gun cabinet it looks about a foot shorter than my Silver Pigeon III!

First one was a pistol very similar to the Gat with a barrel you push in. Was amazingly inaccurate and became unsafe when the barrel would release of its own accord. But was great fun shooting darts of out it.

You need a the equivalent of an FAC for one in Scotland now

Brilliant Charlie ... not related to B and C or BFN are you     What is the shooter?
I don't know what that means.  It's a Daisy BB gun that I regret immensely losing in a move

the edit is messing with me - sorry

wonko

you haven't changed a bit since that picture was taken in the early 60s ?

ps

were you running illicit moonshine in that there truck ?? Hic
The pic is +/-70 yrs old  That's not a truck, it's the boot of the car the folks had

BSA Meteor, around 1962. Purchased from Watson's ironmongers in Tadcaster, it was a .177, and it came with a steel target holder sprayed white, a small plastic bottle of oil, and a tin of BSA pellets. I was immediately whisked off to the range at RAF Church Fenton for a blissfull hour's instruction from a very nice gentleman. For the next few years that gun was rarely out of my hands during the holidays, and if I close my eyes I can still "feel" it now. It went with me to Preparatory School in North Yorkshire in 1963/4, where we shot the old style "Cadet" type air rifles once a week. They were kept in a hardboard cupboard which was naturally unlocked.

Last year I went to the Sporting Goods Sale at Netherhampton Auction Rooms, and there was a Meteor there of the identical type in excellent condition, a quick fondle brought it all back to me. A wonderful thing, which for decades I described as the best money I ever spent - I then changed my mind when I bought a boat - now I've changed it back.

I was born near Tadcaster, raf churchfenton to be precise.

sorry major thread drift

Ignoring the Gat, the first proper gun that I owned was a Beretta Onyx, it was a 28" M/C Sporter from 1989 and I think it cost about £6-700. I don't still own it, but I have seen similar guns on sale at c£900.

Another member of the gat club. Bought by my folks from Country House in Newcastle for £12 I think in 1986. I was 8. Can still remember the light blue box with the gun of my dreams nestled in polystyrene! Wildly inaccurate as has been said with most pellets flying high and to the left. Darts were an improvement. I had great fun shooting cans in our hallway with corks!

A big step up came at the muddy CLA game fair in 1988 at Kelso when my mother bought me a .22 Gamo Sniper for £60. That opened up a whole new world of mischief and naughtiness! Sadly I no longer have either.

1st gun was a Spanish single barrel 410 which my Dad got me when I was 10.

First time out (the afternoon I got it) I Shot 7 pigeons in an hour.

Sold it as I grew out of it as the stock had loads cut off it so I could shoot it.

First double barrel was a 16b sxs as a Birthday present when 12. Still got it.

I believe both guns were new in 1960 when you got them !

No you're wrong.  The 16b was made around 1923 I believe.

It's actually been re proofed 3 times.
