Just wondered if anyone has experience of this and does it matter what the fixed chokes are to start with? can it be done on any gun. Thanks

Far as i know any gun can have multi choke retro fitted unless its old and thin barrels i spose. I do personally believe multi chokes are the work of the devil :) i hate em but i am a trap purist :)

Most would suggest getting the gun "Teagued", by Nigel Teague.  http://www.teagueprecisionchokesltd.co.uk/prices.html

Not sure if initial wall thickness is relevant   If the gun has very open choking to start with, there might not be enough meat for the process but, call Nigel and go from there.  The longest extended chokes would likely be the best choice (probably), but even the short extended would be very good.

There was another thread that covered this recently. My advice is to consider if you really want multi? Mine was 3/4 and full. I just got it honed out to half half for £60 a few years ago..

M/C or Fixed choke depend's on what your going to use the gun for. If only Trap or Skeet shooting then fixed would be ok. If you intend to shoot different disciplines or clay's and other thing's then Multi choke would be a better option.

I have teague chokes in my B325 at the moment, very happy with them, but am looking at a new gun and just wondering if you can do it on any fixed choke, just widens my buying options really. Thanks

Have you considered buying your new gun with multi chokes already fitted?

Without knowing which discipline you shoot it's an impossible question to answer.

Myquestion isnt about whether I need them or not, I'm experienced enough to decide this, it's about having it done. Yes could buy a gun already mcd obviously but I'm looking at possibly getting a s/h perazzi and a lot of them aren't m/c'd. And if I find one I like just wanted to know how easy it is to have done etc

Easy. Give it to Teague and its £4-500 with all the chokes I think. (He did quote me once a while back).

Skeet UK

Yes, it is. If you're gun has 1/2 and 3/4 fixed chokes and you shoot DTL, Single Barrel, HxD or even ABT why change?

I had a fixed choke gun altered for someone a while ago. It's a fairly easy process. Teague certainly do a good job, as do Briley. It does take a while though.

I took my gun to Nigel Teague on a Monday morning to be multi choked and got it back on Thursday
