He was Paddy the Pot Shotter, Irelands failed DTL Olympic hope.

He gave it a foot at the bead instead of a foot at the clay.

Sorry Ireland shooters..........the Scottish did not mean it (it is supposed to be a new joke)

Should this thread be moved to the joke section?

Thanks

Tobi wan.

Sell a man a fish, he eats for a day, teach a man how to shoot, or he'll blow his ****ing foot off. -_-

I am sure we have not exhausted every pun.

But as we approach the season of Good Will, perhaps we should have a little sympathy for the poor chap.

I will now refrain from any more attempted humour.

It is a British trait to laugh in the face of adversity and whilst we are posting the humourous quips we are all thinking of him but you are probably right - enough is enough!

I for one saw what Clever commented on just the other day on a Compak Sporting line and I took it to be accepted practice to keep the speed of shooting up.  Now the line will have to wait while I load my shells when its my turn so I've learnt a very valuable lesson from this poor chaps experience.

Its good that the anti's cannot trawl this site.

However, although there have been some amusing comments, it is still sad that this tw*t will have ended up in hospital and it WILL be recorded as a SHOOTING INCIDENT and the anti brigade WILL get to hear about it, and these people are extremely clever and organised in how they use such information to their advantage, and our detriment.

It is a genuine concern, and certainly doesn't deserve the aggressive response made by Darkside to an earlier post expressing similar concern. Don't make the mistake of being complacent with your gun ownership!

Robert your not saying you have had shells in the tubes when stood behind the stand and someone is still in it shooting ?????

Guerini your point is well made, but like all things in life there has to  be a degree of give and take, and humour does in its way does  help to highlight the need to be more careful,

I have experiences of jokes made about Alzheimers, my mother  suffers from such as did my  grand mother ,mother inlaw and 2 aunties I have spent many hours nursing them at various times in my life

Indeed my Gran had me arrested by the police on the grounds of breaking and entering on one occasion !!!

The jokes made against such people can be seen to be wickedly cruel, despite the terribly sad and stressful experiences i can see the funny side of it all, one has to have a sense of humour  about things or we shall all go mad.

Aggressive!?!? Eh, no aggression :)

No certainly not - On the Compak Sporting layout I was on there are 5 cages side by side and you each take it in turn to:-

  • Shoot first at one clay with full use of gun, then your next door neighbout does the same and so on down the line coming back to you to
  • Shoot at a pair, then your neighbour does the same and so on down the line and then
  • Shoot at another pair, then your neighbour and so on down the line
Everyone then unloads and moves to the right to the next cage and the guy on the end walks around the back to cage 1 and then the process starts again

Shells were being loaded in the cages only but I think I'll prefer to only load when it gets to my turn in future in case the gun slips out of my hand or off the bar at the front of the cage even though I held it at all times.

What do you experts think?

You may not consider it to be aggressive mate, but "Grow a spine, get some balls" is probably not the most placid of responses to somebody simply caring about how our sport is perceived  :p

Clanchief says loaded behind someone who is still in the cage, sounds more like Normal Sporting. If I turned around and saw a loaded gun outside the cage behind me I would be having words with said individual and any scorer or ref for letting them.

Jake Please read what I said again I did NOT say that I was behind someone in the cage with a loaded gun, I would never ever do that!  - I was in one of 5 cages which are shot in order

No doubt the alleged foot shooter is a daft bugger, and requires a serious lesson in gun safety, but it seems a touch out of line to take the p1ss out of him/her.

To right, I would spit the dummy for sure.

Robert.

Jake as I read it got rattled by the suggestion that loaded outside the cage was in some way considered normal, not that you would do it.
