Can't insert the link Ian am computer handicapped here in Cyprus. Worth watching to see them decide a world final by who can see the last in total darkness . DTers can do it with their eyes shut.

Mrs Up says I'm on holiday and that I am not going to southern counties for the final OT Selection but that I can watch videos on her iPad. Time for my ice cream now (two hours ahead)

It's just an explanation of Spot shooting. With a high rib you can put the gun straight out, but you can still see the trap house roof down through the gun, but the right eye often can't see the clay coming because the gun is in the way, so the left eye tells the brain when to pull the trigger. The second target is now above the barrel and the right eye can see it fine. The random pairs has now made this harder to do, but it is still possible.

Thank you Jake I think I understand that now. Seems a mind blowing thing though. Are you aware of doing this or does it just work that way because of the facts.

ooh just looked at your stats in DT ... impressive.

Only got my head around it and became conscious of it in the last few years to be honest. I used to physically look down through the gun, I now just use peripheral vision. But it is difficult to do, especially on peg 1 as both targets are coming from the right and both eyes are a bit blocked. Opposite on peg 5 when your left eye see them quartering towards the gun. It all happens in a split second, hence why it is hard to consciously be aware of.

Cheers jake

I used to use the looking through the gun thing when I tried high rib for a couple of seasons at DTL does work very well when you adapt to it but found it hard for anything like OT
