Ah, the joys of cleaning oxidisation of connecting plugs,

Scribing lines into live and neutral pins on the mains plugs, half squashballs  under each seperate,

10Kg of lead shot in the base of each speaker to take bass so low

The joys of snake oil,  sorry i mean hifi tweakery .

:santa:

Yes. African grey. He's 24. Can live to 80.

Speaks like a human. Hates all soaps.

Can spell : - P E T E R Then says Poofter!

Whistles Hitlers only got one ball (all of it) when my Lesley walks in front door.

Asks for food and water. It goes on and on.

We give him the phone when cold phone callers phone he talks to them forever. Poor Indians.

God knows what he orders.

Loves the Pull mag, just rips it up while laughing.
beautiful plumage

But the most outrageous thing I ever heard of was a guy in the US who had a pair of matched pure gold speaker cables $50k the pair!
Not sure why, as Silver is the better conductor. Extruded Silver cable and gold connectors.

Also, while one can go silly; that does not mean that good quality mains cables and a clean supply, are not beneficial.

I can see and hear the difference, when using a mains conditioner

Well that is why we all laughed even silver is a total waste! I question the mains issues these instruments have the very best regulated PSU's going but it give them something to worry about I suppose. But the real issues are the room in which the music is to be reproduced not the equipment. Mains conditioner .... the placebo effect is strong!

No it isn't. It does however, depend on how "dirty" your mains is. Before I used a mains conditioner (doesn't need to be ultra expensive) I used to get a Halo, around lettering on screen...mostly on sky planner, menu etc. I don't get that anymore.Audio wise, most noticeably on acappella tracks, the mains conditioner clears up background fuzz.

Does it have a HUGE effect on listening? Well, again that depends on your preferences, choice of music and quality of your hearing...and opinion.

But while I would defy all but the super human, could differentiate between two high end speaker cables...noisy mains is very real and its absence is easily noticed, once you have heard or seen its effects.

I deal with noisy mains affecting signal quality on a daily basis, so I do have some idea what I'm talking about.

Well now you have got that off your chest we can all sleep easy!

(Psssst....it was a yawn  sorry HiFi geeks)
Ex geek Nic gave up that tail chasing when I realised it was industry hyperbole.... bit like a cart manufacturer telling you there latest offering will have you hitting straight 25's every weekend :)

I have tested my gun extensively and concluded that i doesn't matter whether i shoot gold or silver cartridges the power source is definitely to blame.

I'm so happy to be so insensitive.  I mean, by the time the power from those nasty mains (and how are they "dirty"?) makes it's way thru the power transformer (across an induction chasm), past the filter caps, and transits a choke it is pure as the driven snow for me.  And THEN it has to wend it's way thru however many other caps and resistors and tubes and wires and jacks and cables and mashing magnets and paper cones and God knows what and you can STILL hear the dirty mains?  I gotta tell ya, dude, ya got bat blood in your veins.  Venusian bat blood.  The world around you must be a 24/7 Hell.

Charlie stop it! My lap top is now covered in vin rouge .... just as well it not expensive... the wine that is :)

Philistine, :D

If its going to be bepoke high end audio, everybody knows it has to be valves!

transistors and caps   pah

Gold plated silver interconnects with oxygen free hand woven strands  in a 4/3 pattern   gives tighter focus then the 4/4 weave ;)

And dont forget to warm up the Amp for at least 30 minutes before listening you your referance track first ...

next you'll be telling us youve got a linear tracking turntable .

:santa:

So why does a bore size smaller than 18.6mm give more recoil.

Skeet chokes = less recoil. Full chokes = more recoil.

Does 18.8mm or greater like 20mm cause pressure lost on fibre wad shells.

What's the secrete of hitting teal?

I phoned him and asked him ' what do you think of Wonko?'

He said " who's a pretty boy then" then " Poofter".

Sorry Wonko but that's what he said.
