Ventured down to gunsite today for the first time along with stew(sleepyholly).

Thought the shoot was quite good looked easy but needed a bit of respect as it all looked to easy.

Bumped into to some familiar faces, and saw there were some names on the score board from this site.

Took some advice from here concerning the shooting over the top so taped some strips of card to the top of the stock to what i thought was right and hey presto shot a P.B of 79 so well pleased.Leading C when i left, 97 was H/G.

All in all a good day.

Well shot Tiptop! That was a very good score on that course.

I did Gunsite too......dunno what went wrong, but as a Chinese mate of mine would say, "I shot rike a plick!"

Quite a testing layout I thought, didn't look too bad, nothing really scary, but I think I left my shooting head at home.

Ah well, off to see my shrink.

Nice one fella, the old card and leccy tape never fails :D
Give it a coule of goes like it is then have to think about getting something a bit more perminant if it does the trick.

Sorry guys 97 etc etc, taken up new sport in clay shooting Skeet Dtl etc scores far too big come world etc etc no one can compete ? Sportings lost the plot really has 97's 98's etc the lower classes think its great but reality Is at the bigger shoots the cricket scores mess u up ! Angles and speeds !!!!!!

Well shot TipTop, it is all coming together.

Straight to A class with you. Then I will have to pick up my game! I liked Gunsite, but gave it no respect and was taught a lesson.

Dropping 2 x stands of 4 targets killed me. Tail chasing after that.

I think only a few more tweaks with that bloody stock of yours then leave it alone!

Good to see your gun fit is geting there. Didn't read rigional post but be sure putting card on your comb will raise the shot POI. Shot gunsite as well and really enjoyed it.

Think you may have a point there m8..... it seems since the worlds ground owners have decided to give targets away a bit too easily  short term this may be the way forward ? but surely if you are in B or C shooting AA and AAA scores !!! won't this cause a un-balanced progression, enjoy it now and pay for it later me thinks ;) I suppose there is limitless room in AA though ? so go for it......

Where does the 97 from the lower classes come from?

79 in C class is hardly AA score

97 was high gun i think it was by a mister RUDLING? Not sure though but he was in front of us on a couple of stands and definately was not C class.

not a C class average either m8

I agree whats the point in shooting inflated scores which are not a true reflection of the level you are genuinely at with lots of easy targets, then when you go into a stiff comp and the wheels come off the shooters come away disappointed and disgruntled that they cant repeat the big scores :frown: :frown: is it better to be winning your true class  than struggling at the bottom of the higher classes after shooting big soft target scores and jumping up the classes ?

I know but you have to start somewhere to reach the dizzy heights. Last shoot was 72 at wylye is that a soft ground as well.

Don,t think this topic is just refering to Gunsite just shoots in general, like said above your gonna end up with AA class being full of A,B and even C class shooters who will be moaning they can,t win anything, only got to look at all people who,ve said they,ve had PB scores this weekend,is it because they,ve got better or improved etc or cause the shoots are getting softer, i know it,s nice to shoot a PB score but wouldn,t it feel better still if it was on a tougher course and you,ve had to work for it??

just my view on it!!

I agree, that is why I have shot 17 different registered grounds in this period. I will be going up to B this term and it WILL be a true reflection of ability not a padded ego trip ;)

I agree with you optima but you have to look at the final scores as when i left i woud have been second in B beat some A class so was it easy? don,t know perhaps things are starting to click

well shot Fuzrat then your progression has been earned and you have had the satisfaction of knowing its a true reflection of your improvement by testing yourself at a large number of grounds at all types of targets. Been bouncing between B and C with my shooting and in C at mo but thats how it should be I havent progressed as i havent been good enough  but still enjoy my shooting :) and being tested by the harder targets as its still a great buzz when you shoot a good score that you know you worked hard for. Thats my thoughts anyway
