I find the use of the term tool offensive and unecessary Nicola  there are far more descriptively accurate terms you could have employed such as implement or  utensil In EXAMPLE  I would not get offended if you referred to me as an implement although the inference would be the same the terminology is not in common use therefore lacking in ambiguity  True story just saying !!
