I have a browning 725s. 4 years old. I have noticed (probably once in a 100 shots). That the trigger is noticeably harder to pull. It's always the second shot. Is this a sign it's time for a service?

It's a sign that it's a Browning 725. My husband has exactly the same problem with his one. They have some dodgy hybrid between an inertia and mechanical trigger that just doesn't work very well. 525's never have that problem.

I have the same problem, thinking of selling it, gets very frustrating. Also heard that 24g cartridges don't work properly as they don't have enough recoil to set the 2nd shot. Can't find out what the exact issue is but it is getting worse, even after being sent back to Browning for a full check and service.
