Fair enough my ability is rising and I am going flat out for B by the next cut off but where else have you ever seen so many close birds that only needed a bit of gun speed and shoot straight at it. It only caught me out because I was expecting something that wasnt there ie leeed.

I'm not the biggest fan of 5x4 and 6x5 pairs anyway, personally think reg should be 12 stands minimum, just shows a bit of a lack of imagination. Especially if I'm paying top dollar for the privilege, £37 comp the same as Westfield, whats that all about?

If Westfield or Newbold were nearby and available ever week, I (and folk like you and I) would be there all the time. In reality, to shoot every week, you simply make the best choice available within a reasonable driving distance. Today that was Hornet for me. I have said to Kevin (ground owner) that the issue with his shoots are that they are not a totally reliable product. Have been to superb shoots there, but they vary in difficulty and reliability.. I thought today was fine target wise, but trap trouble was a spoiler.. Again.

Just shows, nothing on for miles apart from crazy bear (non-reg but very good I'm informed) and Hornet gets what 90 entries? I was mid 40s at half ten-ish so that was an hours worth of entries, usually the busy hour too. Wylye next time for me hang the extra diesel!

I went to grange farm 74 entries at 10,10 am

Some of us went looking for leeeeeed and came home with a 55!! You are shooting very well Fuz....they all need shooting, even the easy ones......74 was a good score (Though not as good as Tony's 74 at Wylye?!). Make the most of the money before you get kicked up to B!!!

Always a sign you are shooting well when you can be so grumpy after shooting a 74 in C!!! :.:

Made the trip to Hornet agian today as dad wanted to get out with the new gun today. Shot the first pair on stand one and the trap stopped working so had to go shoot the rest and come back to it - instantly irritated but trying not to let it bother me anymore and get on with it. Managed to finish up with a 94 but there was already a 96 out there - Easily there though.

it might have been on,prob wouldn,t have noticed first time i,ve ever been there and we were in hurry to get to keg worth after gettimg lost on way to grange

Seems to be a witch hunt for Hornet at the moment from what I am hearing in regards to prize money.

So I will clear up the money issue on here for Ed! :smile:

Kevin said call him he will check his records again and he said you will get your 30 quid.

It does look like someone else has managed to pick up your cash and has taken it though but he also said they do keep records if somebody takes for somebody else.

Maybe on this occassion something went drastically wrong but if there is an issue you will get your 30 quid.

If you need his mobile number or vice versa let me know I will send it you, then give him a call it is no issue at all and he definitely does not want you to feel peed about it.

I don't know the full story but I think it would be better if Ed contacts Kevin and he said he will sort it. The man can't do a lot more than that.

There were a few tricky birds, 1 complete Bas@~rd bird on stand 11 which appeard from behind the fencing on the left and crossed into the distance pretty rappid. Other than that didnt really struggle - used a skeet choke on a number of stands (unheard of for me, usually full and 3/4 all the way). Perhaps getting to used to the ground and need to give it a break for a while - seems a shame as its on my doorstep now!

That was a tough bird. Quartering away, but suddenly in to view, plenty of spring on it and pretty distant at the kill point. Glad to hit it 3 times, with a good bit of leeed.

I managed to get the hold point right from the start for once, held out there let it come to the barrels and a little push, cleaned that stand up and Mrs fuz managed a 9 too

I think by this time of year we've all shot a lot of clays, and hornet w.wood ect.can only throw so many target combos.I shot hornet, there was a 96 on but was not skeet in the woods i've herd this coment many times but 100 straight has never won the shoot.I like to think i've helped a few shooters in my time and one thinge i say is, if you want win don't juge the targets just kill em.If your after fun and enjoyment go to the grounds that float your boat?I'll get me coat.
