Thanks to all for the advice in my post re DTL, some of the comments have made me think.

Should I try OT or UT, not tried either and I was wondering as I am not an experienced trap shooter whether I would be wasting my time or whether I should keep at DTL and gain more experience?

Would I need a specific trap gun or would my MK60 be suitable?

Can I also ask what discipline do you trappies normally shoot?

AND -

DTL is a fine training ground for beginning anything.  Perfect your gun mount and target acquisition and then have try at OT or UT.  Technique is everything

Before I came to stay in France I had never shot any form of target shooting. I joined a local club and started shooting ABT and was scoring 9,10or12. I went on the internet and found this site and gained a lot of tips from the trapies on here and my scores improved to the point I was scoring 19-22 quite regularly. I am now into my third year and have been shooting mostly UT but some OT and I usually score about mid 80's. So really in short don't be afraid get in there and enjoy it, after a short while I bet your scores won't have changed too much from your DTL... but you will probably enjoy the challenge more, although I have heard that DTL is a subject in itself.

edit

You will probably get lots of tips from the experienced guys you are shooting with

And remember that free advice is most often worth what you pay for it  (including this of course  :preved: )

My balls are not as big as my mate balltraps so I shall sit back and enjoy :)
