Coleys start a twice a month 1st and 2nd Wednesday 100 ESP Reg, its on my doorstep so I might wrangle 1 or more of these, the only downside I can see being that on the 1st Thursday of each month there's EJC's reg and on the 3rd Thursday of each month there's Owls both of these are localish to Coleys are "established " regular shoots all competing for mid week trade.

Do look on Coleys web as there's a series of shoots with each event and a summer series prize, not sure of entry costs but it is squadded with set times

I shot 3 ( sure it was three ) of these last year, in the squads I was the only C class shot, everyone else far more worldly wise also, the general comments on two of the three shoots wasn't very positive, one shoot blighted by trap problems and a horrendous amount of no birds, another had 40 plus driven targets which although different stands was a bit repetitive.

Nice ground and excellent facilities mind

I did a couple of these last year. Overall, pretty tough, but lots of it was tricky edge on stuff in the woods with narrow window. Generally not loved. Might be all different this time.

nice ground and facilities (my local ground) but not shot any of their reg stuff. Didn't seem to get a lot of positive reviews last year though. Prescott is worth a go though and I guess combining the 2 makes for a day of shooting..

Prescotts look to be putting on reg shoots on Saturdays this year, no "double headers" or "date clashes" depending on ones take, the Saturday reg shoots worked reasonably well in the autumn which bodes well.

I thought I read there would be mid-week reg comps again? Oh well, Saturdays are better for me anyway.

Think I shot all bar two of the reg last year, weather was awful for the couple I missed. Consensus was that it was generally on the tougher side of things. That said, I very much enjoyed them all bar one where there were a lot of broken clays and targets set into the sun.

The word is that it's going to be a little easier this year, with the staff all taking turns at target setting. Although as I understand it, Jim's still setting this 1st one so beware ha ha.

Expecting high scores from Gloucestershire's finest on their return from Dubai.

You may well be correct, there's nothing on his webpage but heard today he's running the mid week series which is good news for us locals

yes, nice little ground with what I thought was reasonable targets last year. Hopefully will be able to shoot this later in the summer.

i shot this today with nick portlock , tim thornett , lee newman in the same squad and must say i was more than happy with jnt high gun with nick both on 93 , a well balanced shoot i thought , pretty much everything visible , some close some far crossers , so next one in two weeks looking forward to it

lets see how churchills is tomorrow ??

Also went today, mine was a choice of here (20 mins from home) or Thursday at EJC, regret can't do the two. I did struggle to see one orange target against a low sun but that was more me shooting it ( well that's at it so to speak) late, I was first up in the squad, the others all shot it far earlier than I with more success, live and learn etc

Only target to beat me up was a squirty little overhead that I overled every time, otherwise everything and some did have some distance were hittable even by this C class struggler, as it is I'm not yet good enough to hit enough of them.

I shot their third shoot this year, today. Credit where it's due, this was a much better course than last year IMO. Made the drive more bearable!

It wasn't that hard and on a windy day was just right I would say. I cocked up two stands royally that just weren't tough, by misjudging distance on targets up in fresh air against the sky, usually the stuff I like! That accounted for 7 away that shouldn't have lived. Finished on 85 having hit almost all the more technical stuff. I enjoyed it and feel the gun is working with me well.

I reckon a 96 is out there if somebody good is on top form. Steve Lovatt going out as I left.

90 for me having missed 4 on the crow and driven midi stand , i cant for some reason shoot straigth at hanging clays , most off putting , but again a very good course of mixed angles and speeds

Also there today, think Chipper Portlock High Gun with a 91, felt it was a well thought out course, really enjoyed it despite the at times chilly wind, the course was set by young Matthew one of the ground staff, the three shoots so far have had three different course setters and each has been Ive felt fair.

Me I managed to drop most of the "closer" targets everywhere but managed all the "challenging ones" so :) for that.

Maybe the wind shifted it, but early on it was a slight l-R, so a foot bottom right was the answer. Still missed one, that came out further away..
