Only one thing to say about that gun ... BEAUTIFUL! Have some good times shooting that Les. That would go straight back into the boot of my car after every round.

edit hope that really is truly vintage ie leaf springs?

Assuming that's some form of Trap variant of a Perazzi (an alien world to me I'm afraid - mine are far more conventional) did you go out to choose the wood - be fitted by the lovely Fabricio - have the Perazzi experience - I loved it

if so how did you find it and are you going to get the factory lacquered wood oiled - the first of mine are with the gunsmith - can't wait to get the first back and see how it looks English Oiled

not a massive fan of colour case hardening myself but that is one sexy gun

I wasn't a fan either until last year. Taste changes with age apparently! I quite like colour hardening now, god knows why! Pmsl!

Ah, can I hit anything? Only shot it once, only 17 ex 25 at OT! So in a word NO!! I shot rubbish, but I'm old enough to know who's fault it was!

For me these days its only about fun, hit some, miss some , bit of piss taking, just a good time! I've gone back to my roots I suppose. Pmsl! ?

I had neither the time or the inclination to visit the factory, but luckily Wes Hann went on my behalf and sorted it all. As for the factory finish, well its rather nice, but I will probably have it stripped at some point, then I can spend countless hours oiling it! Pmsl.

Yes John, it has the dreaded v springs! I'm told that they are more robust these days, my last mx8 used to eat them at a furious rate! Didn't have spring probs with my previous gun, mx2005, it had coils.

I have not had my gun long enough to know if it goes through them at a furious rate Les. I bought the gun secondhand and put about 10k through her before one popped ... but I don't know how many they had done before I got it. The way I see it there is an easy way of avoiding a problem that does not involve a spare trigger. I have a spare set of springs and what I do is fit them before a competition and then back again after the comp. So my comp set have never anymore than say a thousand a year and they are good for way more than that. If I break a practice set spring I will fit the comp set and get another new set which will become my comp set... I'll let you know in  ten years how that works out :)

Sounds like a good idea John!

one thing that can be said about colour case hardening is that you wont ever get two guns the same, making your gun completely unique, which when you are having one built for you is a massive bonus

, nope. Guess again Charlie!
that was a joke, son

And if you pay attention and have the action regularly re-varnished the color case will last forever.  I have 40+year old guns with perfect colors simply because someone cared.  I would worry way more about that than some wood thing that can be replaced.

JMO of course

How often do you have your actions re varnished then Charlie?

Really lovely Les, you must have searched high and low to get one where the stock key matches the wood too. Do they do one in skeet ?  Cos I know this Guy...............................................................

as lovely as it is it don't start with a B so ain't no good for me even in skeet mode
