Thats very kind mate. I have another friend with a high rib version.. I have had a couple of shots and am not convinced that it is something that is right for sporting. I can see it for trap.. It would at least take a lot af adjusting to. Thats nice isnt it. You offer a favour and I end up dissing your gun! /wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-embarassed.gif Cheers,CSC3

Ian you hit the nail on the head- you have to adopt a very different style with a K80 if your used to shooting a DT/perazzi particularly. You can't try and shoot with a load of gun movement and exaggerated swing through styles are a killer (but are pretty pointless whatever the gun). A solid set up and well planned approach lead to an easy, repeatable, deliberate style which put straights on stands for fun!

It is my opinion that Krieghoffs are the heaviest piles of junk I have ever had the misfortune to shoot.Overweight, overrated, overpriced, and often you need to alter your score card to win if you shoot a K80.Just my little devil coming out./wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-wink.gifMr. Solomons, over to you Sir /wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-laugh.gif.Get yourself a Miroku MK38 , spend the rest on cartridges & entry fees/wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-smile.gif/wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-smile.gif/wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-smile.gif/wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-smile.gif

maybe you should stick to Ur Miroku Champ, I've shot them all and weather you can shoot the krieghoff or not and believe me I've had pain with mine, its a very well made gun and a beauty to shoot, the problem is you got to set it up right and give it time and you wont look back, yep and change your style, if the gun was crap a quality top shot like Ed wouldn't shoot one, just look at his scores class  !!/wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-surprised.gif/wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-surprised.gif/wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-surprised.gif/wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-surprised.gif/wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-surprised.gif

Yellow/Yellow,I have no doubt that you are very pleased with your purchase, I have no doubt that they are very well made (normally, but not without quality issues) but perhaps we should heed the words of George Digweed who once said that he believed that he could shoot any gun well if the money was right. He doesn't do too bad with a Perazzi, he wasn't too bad with a Kemen or a Beretta either.Young Edward spent a lot of time and money getting his gun sorted to his liking, in fact I have lost count how many stocks he got through, or were they just stock alterations Ed?I have over the years had three Krieghoffs and try as I may I never felt comfortable with them, and let us get down to brass tacks,  they are in my opinion grossly overpriced. It would be a very enlightening thread if everyone who has bought a K gun for circa 8K would tell us how much they sold it for to a dealer when they got rid of it/wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-frown.gif.

Thanks for the pre advice on hte k80 .ive tryed it out and found that a soft touch is needed when passing through a clay,or you may find yourself in front. We all have our veiws on which guns we like or Would like,as with guns and people we are all different. And who's to say which is the best .(Boys shoot k80's and girls shoot mx12's) thats my veiw./wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-cool.gif/wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-cool.gif/wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-cool.gif

And proper shooters shoot MK38s /wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-laugh.gif/wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-laugh.gif/wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-laugh.gif/wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-laugh.gif  Heavily customised of course /wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-cool.gif/wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-cool.gif/wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-cool.gif

We all shoot with a gun that we chose because we wanted to use that particular one. After being happy with the gun fit its a case of learning to use it, whatever the make and model, length, balance etc

very good statement, all this fluffy rabbits back and forth are what these sites are about, most of the time these threads get the best out of people.Any way i will try the gun out next time at westfield on the28th dec,so the frustration of crimbo and families and to much turkey will be blown away.Di anyone shoot Windrush 2day?

there might just be another reason alot of people find gun fit and balance of the K80, DT10 and some Perazzi's odd and hard to under stand .....they ALL come from the world of pre-mounted trap shooting ?? if you watch the top boy's who can really do the job with k80 , I would bet most shoulder the gun and do not swing through, but, just push to the kill point ......not the easiest thing to do if you don't like or use that method but be assured it works for them !! but there are alot who have gone down the k80 route and sadly have seen their wallet and shooting take a serious hammering................may be all K80's should carry a warning /wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-smile.gif/wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-surprised.gif/wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-yell.gif

/wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-cry.gif/wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-cry.gifhmm,me and my brother went down the k80 route both gone back to DT 10,s a few grand lighter in the pocket /wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-cry.gif/wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-cry.gif/wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-cry.gif

Ive just found that the gun i picked up on monday of last week has just gone back!!!!/wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-yell.gifThere is a problem with the bottom barrel, this was not my doing!this was the shop selling me a fast one. They have now been told to put it right or sxxxt will hit the fan.

The gun trade is full of rogues and vagabonds. I had the same thing with a DT10 I bought this week for a good customer. Paid reasonable money for it then found that it would not fire the top barrel. After a research session I found out that the gun had been returned from someone else complaining of the same problem and they had pushed it on to me. My money was returned on the spot and I bought another from a 'reputable dealer' 20 miles away. Some shops are so desperate for a sale they will risk their reputations, they must be mad. Imagine how many people I speak to in a month.

Makes you wonder how some dealers are still in business /wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-surprised.gif  The shooting community is a small world and word soon gets round! Would have thought they would test fire their secondhand stock before putting it on the shelf, or at least have the stock off to check for excessive wear or broken springs etc. Even giving it service wouldnt cut into their margin that much and would reduce the chances of negative publicity, espescially on highish ticket guns like dt10/k80 et al. Hope you get it sorted soon ASE /wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-smile.gif  I think if I was spending that kind of dosh I would demand it goes back to Alan Rhone for a complete strip and service at their cost, not just bodged by an in house 'smith!

Not that I disagree with you but early DT10's were not in the same league as the later ones. They could suffer from fan firing, top barrel not firing, the action opening on firing/wp-content/forum-smileys/sf-surprised.gif and more besides no doubt. Apparently to do with the wrong grade of steel and going against expert advice in the design of the firing mechanism. If you do a search on Shotgunworld you'll find they recommend checking the word BERETTA underneath the action being written in a certain way to be sure you're getting a sorted one. Also I don't expect the shop would have put it on the shelf 100% certain of any faults, it is after all possible to fire many dozens of shots with no problems; something they may have done?!

I am sorry to hear that you both have had problems, let us all hope it was 'just one of those things' a one off situation. The Trouble is we all love our toys and just want them to work when we go out to play. Not all gunshops and gunsmiths are bad.I went on Saturday to try and probably  buy yet another K80 (my fourth try)My gun dealer friend convinced me I didn't need one, because he thought I shot my Miroku very well, so why did I want to change?????.He also persuaded me that 30" barrels would possibly suit me better than 32" because I am a short arse. But he did an exceptional job at saving me some serious money. For those of you who do buy a K80, for a little bit extra cash you will do no better than spend a few bob with Ed Solomons on a session at Sporting Targets.
