As the season approaches I have been putting my kit together and my le Cham walking boots are looking a little unloved, what treatment is recommended for leather boots

Thanks!

I like a cream to put on my boots - Rub on and leave to dry. At the moment I'm using Berghaus conditioning cream.

On my walking boots I've been using Leder Gris water repellent wax oil for a quick clean and Leder Gris Xtream for when the leather needs conditioning.

Leder Gris Xtream can make the leather a little darker but its not designed to be used it often.

Thought this may be of interest....

Thank you for your email.

Please find below product care tips for our Arran/Condor LCX models:

Step 1 preparation:

Take the in stock out for them to dry and air well. Take the laces off in order to have access to “hidden” areas.

 Step 2: Cleaning

Wash your shoes under running warm water with a soft brush. For difficult areas use a soft toothbrush.

 Step 3: waterproofing

Use a waterproofing spray while the leather is still slightly humid, the pores of the leather are still open and the product will penetrate better. Let it dry for 24 hours. Use dedicated products for waterproofed leathers.

 Step 4: Care

Use dedicated leather care products, creams or bee wax based emulsions. The aim is to nourish the leather, we recommend to apply the care product with a clean cloth, making circles for a better penetration. Let it penetrate for 4/8 hours (overnight), then brush with a soft brush. We do not recommend to use grease as it will close the pores and prevent breathability. Moreover, grease will render a very soft leather that will impact stability and stiffness.

 Step 5: Store your shoes

Shoes are preferably stored in a shoe bag in a well aired, cool and dry place. Newspaper can be used as stuffing paper. Avoid heat sources or storing the shoes in the boot of the car, also avoid humid places.
