I will try to keep this brief.....perhaps the police are not actually the best people to handle dealing with terrorists? These Jihadi types say they are fighting a holy war......fine......perhaps it's time to let the British Army deal with them, in the same way that they would do in any war, with any enemy of this country! Anyway the most, for me at least, amazing thing he had to say was that the American constitution allowed citizens to have the right to have firearms to protect themselves, should the need arise, from an oppressive and unjust government. I don't know if that is general thinking amongst the everyday gun carrying American or if it was just his take on it. 

I believe that this message is put forth in the Federalist Papers (IIRC) by Jefferson a couple hundred years ago tho not specifically noted in the wording of the 2nd Amendment.  There have only been about a gazillion words written in ref to the 2nd Amendment advocating just about anything from any  viewpoint.

So you like the idea that your police shoot unarmed children in the back as they run away and then try to protect them from prosecution encouraging more such incidents from your uncontrolled police force.

Your police shoot innocent people on a regular basis because of poor attitudes,bully boy mentality's and your wonderful firearms laws.

Definitely proves that arming all police is a good idea.

And all these massacres we here about ....a result of poor gun control.

You see when it all kicks off with terrorists in your country it will be mass murder as you will have armed them to the teeth.(Orlando disco for example)

Guns will be no help when somebody has already blown themselves up!

Obviously working for you,think we will stick the way we are with few incidents quickly controlled rather than the armed chaos that ensues in your country on a regular basis.

Back on what happened at London Bridge on Saturday, did anyone read about the football fan that got stabbed 8 times?  When they came into the restaurant he was in shouting Islam over and over again, he stood up, shouted "F**k you, I'm Millwall" and laid into them with his fists.

He hasn't lived up to the Millwall fans chant of "no-one likes us, we don't care".  Everyone likes him now.

I can certainly appreciate your position but that is a bit harsh.  Gun control is not a all/nothing situation.  We do have some fairly stringent gun laws but having passed them the legislatures figure that's as far as they have to go and don't fund enforcement.  I'm very pro-gun and I'll let that topic go at that.  AFA the cops go, I think if a few of them were executed for murder it would go a long way to responsible behavior.  Personally I find the police right at scary.  Way far too much power and firepower in the hands of the observably incompetent.  Gunfighter/commando/SAG wannabe's all but devoid of training generally and pervasive massive attitudes. 

The current situation has been long in coming and is the gathering together of a multitude of cause/effect relationships world-wide that will not be undone in any civilized way and likely not undone period.  Certainly not in my lifetime no matter what.  But I may live long enough to see the beginnings of the pogroms.

Bigger picture maybe? Besides the ones in our backyard Corbyn doesnt believe in police having a shoot to kill attitude and wants to sit down and chat with them over a cup of tea.

The point is, we've moved on since then. We have learned to deal with our problems without resorting to wild west tactics ................... unlike your countrymen who shoot first, regardless of the situation, and dodge questions later.

I have no idea how the US is portrayed in the UK but I can tell you that the above generalization is far from the truth.  One stupid shooting incident is too many but to suggest that the US is an ongoing gun fight is really just not true.

Just 2 weeks ago I was speaking to several american non shooter types in Arizona but from CT and NYC and they were amazed by the stuff we get told by the press here based on the extreme cases. Reading some of the comments on here it seems its believed as well.

Video doesn't lie and their media has said the same.

Perhaps they don't watch there own news or it is not shown the same,perhaps there just in denial i regularly watch other countries news channels and find out more of what is going on here than you get on the Biased Broadcasting Company which just shows what it wants.
